Hello, I have an angioplasty on 20th January, and I find swallowing fingers and pain in my fingers each morning. Also I feel a pain in my arm where a inserted cuateter was. I v been to my doctor and he said that that is ussual/ normal for person with tiny and curved arteries. I used hepateombin for the bruises and now they are almost gone. But the paining my palm, fingers and lower hand are still here. Do anyone have the same problem as me ?

I had almost the same issue in my right arm after an angio. The artery on the right side is very small so usually they use the left, however, on one occasion the doc decided he wouldn't be beaten by a small artery and so used it. It was the most painful angio I'd ever had! For months afterwards I couldn't hold anything in my right hand because of the pain. The physio suggested I wear a splint and apply topical neurofen gel. It took a long time, but now over a year later, my wrist is almost back to normal. I don't wear a splint anymore and can hold and carry what I like, I just occasionally get a slight pain if I've used my hand alot.

Give it time and support your wrist when using it to hold or lift things and hopefully it should settle.

Vimia my bruising was far worse than that and took until Friday to completely go. Had mine done 11th January. While I had the bruising my wrist and hand hurt . But I found exercising my hands helped. Your body reacts to anything that happens to it. I put my arms out straight and turned my wrists 10 times clockwise then 10 times anticlockwise. . Arms out straight and flex your hands from the wrists up and down 10 times . Then did piano fingers for 10 times . Twice a day . But do then at a speed that is comfortable for you . At first I did them very slowly then as the weeks went by and the bruising started to disappear could do the quicker but still very controlled. But if anything hurts stop..The scar is still visible but it's the same colour as the rest of my skin .

But I have had pains in my limbs my whole life during to a hereditary neurological condition. So I do have a high tolerance to pain . As I never had a local anaesthetic before I asked for sedation. Unfortunately neither worked but I didn't say anything because I knew they would have to stop and then take longer . So I lay with my eyes shut and tears rolled into my ears. But me being me found a comic moment when I hear a blue a blue pinks no good her veins collapsed. But I didn't look or move . They only found slight furring in my right artery and didn't need a stent .

What I found fascinating was the balloon cuff they put over the wound dressing and pumped with air to keep pressure on the wound . And it was lovely being wrapped in a hot blanket and given the syringe to take back to the ward. After a hour some air was taken out as my fingers where turning blue. Then hours later deflated and removed. After I had a nap.

They wanted to use my right wrist but I said no because I walk with a stick and hold it in my right hand. Had the sedation in that arm and the bruising covered a large area. But am on Apixaban.

I had very bad bruising despite use of two cuffs but no other issues. Christened it my tribal tattoo, I could still see a ghost image more than three months later.

I also had very bad bruising for the first year after surgery due to being on Ticagrelor, a blood thinner. Still get the odd bruise now despite only being on aspirin.

Mine took about a month to go away completely, I spent a night on morphine as they had to strap it up so tightly it was agony. They said it happened because I was so small! I have never felt pain like it

No bruising at all after my first one when stents were fitted but the second time my arm was black from wrist to elbow. No pain though. That time they'd given me a huge loading dose of clopidogrel.

I had the same issue with severe bruising and pain into my hand from my wrist for about 3 weeks afterwards, with then slowly reduced over the next month or so. This photo was around a week after the angioplasty I think.
