minor heart attack at 36

hi,

I was playing football one afternoon and experience chest pain and to my suprise I was having a minor heart attack. I had 95% blockage on my artery and had a ballon angioplasty procedure. I am really worried and I scared for the future even though doctors have advised if I stick to my meds and make lifestyle changes I should go on to live a normal life but I can’t keep stop worrying.

The chest pain has also gone but I do get some abdominal pain which I feel is side effects of the drugs or could be IBS. Anything comments or experiences shared would be much appreciated.

Hi, I’m 31 and had a minor heart attack last Wednesday. Had my angioplasty this past Friday and was discharged on Saturday, everything was ok since then until I had my first bad night last night I have quite a bit of anxiety aswell. My left arm got cold, tingly with bursts of mild pain, I also felt a bit of chest pain and the worst part I think the anxiety added so much more to the weight of the pain, so it made it harder to tell if it was a normal recovering pain or go to the ER pain. I found this forum last night and its helped ease a lot of my worries, even helped me get through the night. Just like yourself, I also feel a bit lost about the future but reading through all the post here has really helped me get a better outlook on what’s to come. Understanding the troubles ahead and staying on top of things is only part of the battle, I think having a good support system will go along ways to manage the worries. Anyways I wish you luck on your journey and hope you find some peace of mind. We’re both young and got a second chance at life.
