Severity of side effects from Firmagon/Orgovyx
And another question...my radiation guy thinks that I could get away with 1 year of ADT using the above drug(s) and not unduly increase my risk. I'm trying to get some anecdotal evidence on how 'debilitating' these drugs are. I understand the likely side effects, but want some real-world data. For

psma scan florida - not much confidence in current MO
My dad met with the MO today and was told radiation and hormone therapy. He was also sent for a pet scan, my mom brought up the psma scan and he said yeah that could be a good scan but he needs the pet scan and dismissed her. I’m going to look around to switching over to moffit or dr alemany here in

Vacation is over - Cancer spread - two spots in the bone and new lymph nodes. Suggestions ?
I was DX 3 years ago. PSA 20 and only lymph node involvement. No bone and local lymph nodes. Was on ADT for 2 1/2 years. Went on vacation last August of 2021. Lowest PSA was .014. PSA started rising in January. Now 1.2. PSMA scan showed 2 bone spots and several new lymph nodes. MO suggested

ADT vacation update
I had a follow up with my MO. I’ve been on an ADT vacation for approximately 7 months. My PSA level is now 0.9 from a 0.1 nadir and my testosterone level is 576. I still have my prostate and a PSA rise was expected as my T level rises. The question is whether the rise is due to my rising T level or an

Pet Scan and Guidance
I was diagnosed with Gleason 8, cribriform morphology and PNI. Ct scan and bone scan were clean. My Decipher score is .79. My pathology report was reread and scored at Hopkins. At diagnosis, I asked for PET scan, but local urologist did not think it would get approved. I have started aggressive treatment

PSA check
Dear warriors, I kindly ask for an opinion from the wiser and more experienced among you regarding PSA tests: with a MCSPC, since 2.5 years on ADT and undetectable PSA how often should this be rechecked? (it has been 3 months until now but he's talking now of 6 months) Grateful to you all for the great

Hi, My Dad is 74. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer about two years ago with a PSA of 10,000 and Gleason of 4/5 for a total of 9. He did six rounds of chemotherapy (Doctaxel). He takes ADT. He eats home cooked meals and works out hard. His result was fantastic with tons of cancer kill! His

Post EBRT/ADT PSA readings
After 28 sessions and 6 months ADT the below PSA progression has me concerned: Sep 2021- <0.1 Dec 2021- 0.1 March 2022- 0.23 Will be meeting with my RO next week for the first time since treatment ended in June 2021. He said then that we wouldn’t talk about treatment failure unless the level exceeded

ADT + Abi + Docetaxel for metastatic prostate cancer?
Going off of the PEACE-1 trial which showed improved overall survival, and improved radiographic progression-free survival in men given the triple therapy of ADT + Abi + Docetaxel therapy on initial diagnosis of metastatic prostate cancer, we are considering asking my husband's oncologist about this

Prostatectomy with pre-ADT?
I have grade 5+3 PCa, biopsy showed 3 cores cancerous, one indeterminate, one 4+3, one 5+3, all on right side. A recent MRI showed 'something' on the other side too, not caught by biopsy. I am strongly leaning toward removal because I do not want to deal with 1-2 years of recommended hormone therapy

MO Recommendations NY area
Hi all, We are seeking a second opinion for my dad who has metastatic prostate cancer (bones), 4+3=7 Gleason and PSA of 4.4, was 23.4 last month prior to Degaralix. His current doctor is at Sloan ketterin but hasn’t been willing to entertain treatment options outside of hormone, ADT avenues. We are interested

Bone scan results in
I just met with my MO's nurse practitioner for my bi-monthly appointment. She gave me the results of my bone scan and CT from last Monday. The results are in....all clear!!! Now, should I consider a vacation from my ADT or continue on. I was so stunned I forgot to ask. I meet with my MO in May.

Didn't expect this
Hello, writing on behalf of my husband. Diagnosed less than a year ago, and being treated with Firmagon/Xtandi. Though the urologist tells us he is in remission with a PSA currently <0.13 the ADT is causing a poor QOL due to extreme fatigue, weight loss, muscle loss, nausea and food tastes bad, chronic

Endo referrals?
Has anyone had success with any London-based nutritionist/dietitian/physio/etc for maintenance/keeping their endo in check? I have been strongly pushed by my current gynae to go onto a number of hormone therapies to sort out my endo. I really, really want to exhaust all other options before going down

Experiencing a rash while on Leuprorelin (Prostap, Lutrate) hormone therapy.
I am just finishing 37 radiotherapy sessions and have been on hormone for 5 months. I had a couple of irritating spots under one of my arm pits for the past 2 months. In the past few days a rash has spread across my chest and neck and groin. Anyone else experience this during treatment? Thanks

Working in person during COVID
Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster. Dx. 6/2021, Gleason Score 3 + 4 + 5 (Group 5), PSA 33. Started ADT: Firmagon, then Lupron + Zytiga; in Fall 2021 did EBRT and HDR Brachytherapy. I’ve been working from home for the last year+ and now being asked by our employer to go back in the office

Worst case scenario?
I was diagnosed in October 2021 at age 45 with mets to pelvis, femur, spine, ribs, lungs and scapula. I had gone to the ER with severe hip pain. I was shocked to find out that the cause was cancer. My PSA was 140 and the biopsy showed Gleason 9. Genetic testing didn’t find anything helpful. Initial oncologist

Better to have testicles removed at outset
Is it best to admit defeat from the get go and have less ADT or is that a misassumption?
