Cabazitaxel Versus Docetaxel
Hi, I joined my father this week for his most recent appointment. He is 5 years post diagnosis and his PSA has started to rise after 2.5 years of stability on enzalutamide and before that 6 rounds of doxetaxel + ADT. His recent scans have showed some enlargement of pelvic lymph nodes which is most

Today is one of those dates a person remembers but really doesn't want to remember - it was 2 years ago today when my urologist's nurse called me to say "you have mets. I'm sorry". those two small sentences are burned into my memory, i can remember exactly where i was, what direction i was facing,

My Onco says he only looks at the PCa, bone health is not his department, I say he couldn't be more wrong.
I am now 54, dx Dec 2019 PSA 160 and up to 300 by March 2020. Extensive bone Mets. Started ADT with Zytiga and Prednisone, marvelous results. PSA down to 0.03 in 8 months, and has stayed very low since . Onco recons everything is going great, disease under control, no further action is needed, just

ADT Holiday Unexpected Consequences
After stopping Lupron and then, 5 months later abiraterone/dexamethasone, I began to experience what I believe to be arthritis joint pains. Not only in my hips (previously diagnosed with degenerative osteoarthritis) but other joints as well. I did a two week taper-off from the dex but I believe, and

PSA is relatively low, but I am having bone pain in my pelvis and spine
So here is my background: Dx in May 2020 Stage 4 with widespread mets from skull to knees, Gleason 9. PSA in the 800s. Started out with Firmagon and 5 rounds of Taxotere. PSA went to 0.1. We switched from Firmagon to Orgovyx in August 2021. In January 2022 we added Nubeqa. PSA has held pretty steady

Current PCa treatment options in the UK do NOT include Triplet Therapy!
Today, I had a phone discussion with my uro-oncology support team and they told me that they NEVER give both chemo and an AR drug (e.g. abi, enza, etc) to prostate cancer patients at the same time - even if advanced. Apparently, the UK "gold standard" of treatment is to give a de novo APC patient either

Is ADT beneficial after castration resistance sets in?
If PSA is rising at the same doubling time (3 weeks) as it was without ADT (when I was Castration sensitive and did intermittent ADT breaks), then is it useful to keep taking ADT? If so, why? Is that because the ADT would be slowing some castration sensitive cancer, even though the castration resistant

Legal action against all this medical negligence... How to go about it?
Has anyone ever tried to take legal action against medical negligence?? I was never mentioned the possibility that my ovarian cyst and fibroid might have been endometriosis. Was never diagnosed with it despite my many years of suffering with PMS and heavy bleeding etc. I was totally against surgery

PSMA PET agents
Hi all- I'm a yearand 1/4 out from RARP for intermediate grade PCA with 'low risk' genomics on the tumor After 9 months of 'undetectable PSA', I've now started to rise and am at .09 now. So looking at PSMA PET down the road. There are 2 agents in common use- Gd68 and 'Pylarify' F18. Sounds

XGEVA
I was receiving Xgeva every 4 weeks for 2 years, and suddenly my Oncologist cut it back to every 3 months......can anyone explain why? Does it even do any good to have that much time between injections? I thought it had a 28 day half-life Help!! Also my care team no longer accepts my insurance and I'll

Xtandi Superior to Zytiga? Maybe Yes? Xtandi prevents resistance to Testosterone because it upregulates the AR while inhibiting its activity

Docetaxel, Chemotherapy
Hi, Have you tried Docetaxel before the Zytiga? My dad did the Docetaxel (6 rounds) before the Zytiga and it killed a TON of the cancer. He was only on ADT for 2.5 years after the chemotherapy. Wishing you the very best, Karyn

12 months hormone therapy done.
I have just completed 12 month ADT and have my annual meeting with Consultant on Monday. Had RP 2 years ago with recurrence 12 months ago in one lymph node. Origonal plan was radio therapy and 12 to 18 months of ADT. Following previous advice on here it seems 2 years ADT offers best outcome. I have

What can I expect from chemo?
I will be starting Docetaxel (Taxotere) near the end of the month. PC has become castrate resistant and oncologist says I should not wait for a trial of LU 177 that does not require prior chemo since it is unsure when it will start and has had a few delays already. So I am wondering what to expect

Did not get baseline testosterone level at start of my Eligard shots.
Just diagnosed in May, 2022 with potentially very aggressive PCa. Dechipher very high, 0.88. Uptake on PSMA PET heterogeneous.MO waiting until Nov. for CT and bone scan to confirm mets to pubic bone. Started ADT (3 mo. Eligard shot) on August 11, also I was sent to lab for PSA test and baseline testosterone

Should I seek radiation treatment to my spine will undergoing ADT. There is pain.
I started Lupron about a month ago and will start Zytiga next week so maybe I’m just being impatient but, man I’m having very real dull pain in my T2 vertebrae where the cancer lit up. The Radiologist wants to zap it but there is disagreement among the ranks that say in time the cancer on the spine will

Greetings, Current Status: 66 yo, Gleason 9 (4+5) Latest update: I got the results from my PSMA Pet Scan yesterday, and it was ALL CLEAR! No evidence of metastatic disease. Very relieved to see this finding but also realize we are nowhere near done, but now we have the data to take action. I'm trying
