5th Covid vaccine
I know this topic has been covered recently but I’m still confused about the 5th Covid vaccine. I’ve just rang 119 and spoken to a guy who has said they are not inviting anyone for a 5th vaccine. They are currently working on people eligible for the spring booster as set out in the NHS guidelines.

B12 injections and iron
Had labs done today in preparation for my hematology check up next week. My ferritin has increased slightly, but my iron , TIBC, and sat % have all decreased slightly. Also my MCV increased and my WBC decreased. Most are still in range, but I know ranges aren't always optimal (and my hematologist

Should Doctor have prescribed B12 injections?
Please advise if anyone else has experienced similar, and what treatment was. Feeling very tired and on occasions breathless when walking uphill. Blood test showed small red blood cells, very low iron and borderline B12 deficiency. Prescribed iron tablets twice a day. Nothing prescribed for low B12.

When to take iron
It seems, from what I have read, that iron has to be taken without food. But also not close to when I take other minerals such as calcium or magnesium, or certain medicines like my thyroid medicine. Is it OK then to take iron at the same time I take my RLS medicine, which at this time is still ropinerole

Blood tests
Hi All. Can someone tell me what blood tests I should be asking for . I have PA and atrophic gastritis and not had any tests for about 5 years. I think my iron might be low but wondering what else I should get checked . I’m in Portugal so not sure if they know much about PA and requires blood tests.

Numbness in hands and in face.
Does anyone know if the numbness,I have in my hands and in my face near my mouth could be a,symptom of folate deficiency or pernicious
anaemia
. Any advice strongly welcomed as it's really starting to worry me now and my heart rate was at 150bpm last night.

Raised mcv
Morning all. I have pv and taking hydroxycarbomide and apixaban. I've been struggling with breathlessness for some time now but haematologist says it's not down to the mpn and referred me back to gp for more investigation. The gp did more blood tests and called me the day after to go for another blood

Transdermal patch with microneedle technology related article
I think this technology can make lots of disorders and diseases history including pernicious
anaemia
, but still it's infancy stage. Unfortunately I couldn't find yet regarding B12 yet. Any comments?

Before You Book (or recommend) That Iron Infusion
Please read the article embedded in this post to FreeGaza. In my unprofessional opinion, if you feel you must have an infusion then ask for Iron Dextran. Dextrose is a single molecule sugar that theoretically should be able to cross the BBB. Injectafer and iron sucrose, in my humble opinion, don’t stand

IFA & PCA blood tests
Hi, I’ve been booked for bloods for intrinsic factor and parietal cells antibodies, the GP said they are antibodies so no need to stop B12 before hand. I’m reading both 48 hours and/or 2 weeks clear of injections, I don’t want to mess these tests up but at the same time am desperate to get the B12.

Unusual results on standard differential -- would love feedback (and, if possible, reassurance?)
Hey, all, yesterday I was a bit shaken by results that were, for me, unusual, coinciding with the most clipped doctor visit ever had, so left full of unanswered questions. My lymphs had gone quite up (okay, that's CLL progressing) and WBD went well up too (okay, CLL progressing) BUT, neutrophils, which

How soon to have B12 injections?
Hello, I have just been told I likely have pernicious
anaemia
and need to have B12 injections. I’ve booked in my first B12 jabs in a few weeks time. I was told waiting a couple of weeks should be fine and it doesn’t need to be any sooner as I dont have neurological symptoms yet.

Absorption of vitamins and Minerals in tablet form
Looking for some advice. I have a 3 monthly B12 injections due to poor absorption. My question is - will l have absorption difficulties with other vitamins or Iron in tablet form? Are these types of tablets ineffective for people like me?
