interesting find
has anyone tried grass fed beef liver supplements. I’m wondering if these freeze dried capsules would be beneficial because of the vitamins and minerals in them as I don't seem to be able to keep my levels of anything up without supplementing. As soon as I stop they seem to drop again quite quickly ,

anaemia
, dose was 1, 3 times a day. For 2 weeks managed 1 twice a day, then ibs flare up started. Lots of bloating, wind and pain. Dropped down to 1 a day. Then had a week of antibiotics for toothache. Since then everyday is awful. Barely been out the house.

Clearly my GP won't be prescribing B12 or folate, but presumably the “satisfactory” Intrinsic Factor ab result means pernicious
anaemia
as the cause of low B12 is not as likely and its okay to start supplementing now?

Low UIBC result from bloodwork?
Hi, All. I had bloodwork done recently and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the low UIBC might be affecting my RLS/PLMD. Ferritin was 169 (down from very high values after a blood infusion for rls in April 2021). The UIBC was flagged as Low at 126, Iron Saturation was flagged as high: Iron 172 UIBC

Should we lobby for modern healthcare to be a blend of Conventional Medicine AND Functional Medicine?
This is my question of the day... We are all suffering, horribly. From ignorance, mainly. Sorry to point it out... Management of B12, of gut health, of everything that happens to a body from a deficiency relies on the study of functional medicine. It is not the domain of conventional medicine, e.g

I'm Alive!
I had heard that some of you were looking for me. I have not been on too much these past few months as I had completely crashed, completely non-functional, with a severe case of iron deficiency. I apologize for not posting what was going on with me sooner. But the severe, severe fatigue just did

Intrinsic factor antibodys
Hi I recently had bloods done at GP which one of them was b12. It came back as no action required but I told GP that I think it still to low at 211.. range (180-800) she said about doing another test that might effect the absorbtion of b12 intrinsic factor antibody. My result was 3.66. was prescribed

FIT test & Endo
Had my yearly bloods done and came back low folate and
anaemia
so dr trying to find out why I am anaemic, had both fit test and still test and both have came back abnormal. Just wondering if maybe bowel endometriosis could be a cause to flag up in the fit test but not be seen on the colonoscopy.

Advice on low B12 please
Also, my maternal grandmother had pernicious
anaemia
. She died aged 28, in childbirth, due to complications of pernicious
anaemia
(this was in the 1930s though!). I was wondering whether there is a genetic element to the condition? Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you.

Endocrinologist Visit - result, totally wrecked!
Diagnosis Pernicious
Anaemia
in 2010. I recieved no advice about how to resume the thyroxine, ie slowly or all at once. I felt ill resuming it immediately and the pharmacist suggested splitting the dose, which I did. Roughly 8 weeks later I am still not back to where I was.

Correct me if I am wrong. Please
There are four forms of cobalamin commercially available for injection. Cynocabalamin which in tests of a non cobalamin deficient human has been tested for retention times. There is no comparative testing of the efficacy of Cynocabalamin versus other forms including no test of the effect on symptoms

New Pernicious Anemia diagnosis
Hi Everyone,In a sleepy state here, getting no response from my GP, my next NHS B12 injection due on 1st September. What do you wish you'd know sooner? What can I be doing to help myself get out from under the duvet and the cat? I can't seem to think beyond basic single tasks. Everything is so overwhelming
