Hello strangers.
Hello, just thought that having been banned from the Cllforum years ago for no good reason, I would catch up with what has been happening to some of the people I liked so much. (I was banned for complaining about the ALT-MED stuff that used to appear so regularly there, and the fact that it was treated

Blood test results
I have so little faith in my surgery these days, and because I was feeling really drained I did a home anemia test. The result was abnormal, so I contacted the surgery to arrange for a blood test. What a performance!!! I told the receptionist I did a home test and the result was to see a doctor. It

Hi I had my first adalimumab injection yesterday at the hospital, although on the packet it says Amgevita . Was ok but not had much sleep with stomach issues. I sat googling what I have to avoid food wise on this med about 4.30am this morning! No wiser…. I understand about eggs and unpasteurised milk

Folic Acid does not cause PA
I saw this article with responses about the consumption of folic acid. What do people think about the responses? Especially the one who says that there shouldn't be a limit to the amount of folic acid taken. https://www.bmj.com/content/329/7479/1376/rapid-responses I have been taking 5mg folic acid

I am interested to know if anyone found the injection painful? My first was in the thigh and I am wondering if next time to try the arm or stomach area? Or am I just being a big baby?! 🫣

B12 deficiency and gastrointestinal (GI) upset
Many people with B12 deficiency mention gastrointestinal (GI) upset. I came across a brief article that discusses some aspects of this relationship. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34454714/ The article introduction includes the following statement: "To date, clinical guidance for best practices related

Jump in Haematocritt
My Haemoglobin from back end last year to a month ago was between 116 and 121. Hematocrit was 41%. Haematologist wouldn't give me iron tablets as last time hematocrit jumped uo so fast apparently put me at risk of a stroke. Last blood test a month ago Haemoglobin 132 and Hematocrit 47%. Why it jumped

Update
There was no mention of B12 supplement but I will ask about pernicious
anaemia
next week. Please can I ask if I should start with a B12 supplement or B complex now or wait. Below is a link to my previous post and also my Medicheck results.

I’m unsure if I have a b12 deficiency?
So for 8 years now my b12/folate has come back low ( e.g - b12 183 and folate 2.2 was my last one last September and it has been them sort of levels for quite a few years. I’ve had another blood test recently and my levels have gone up folate 6.5 and b12 217 (which I know is still low but I just can

B12 results-please can someone advise?
My query is as I have pernicious
anaemia
I have been told I need these injections for life. Would the high reading be due to having the injection and immediately having a blood test taken? Would this be a false reading?

Is it safe to inject b12 shots for vitamin b12 level of 165pg/ml?
Hello dear friends My b12 result came back 165pg/ml that lab normal values were 160-950. I visit a internist doctor. She said your values is within the normal range. I started to explain her my symptoms like sense of dizzyness. All time feel sleeppy. Very low energy that become tired after 2 hour doing

Atrophic Gastritis
Hi everyone, I have deen trying slippery elm to no avail for general stomach discomfort. I sometimes feel as if I have a 'fist' moving around in my stomach. The 'fist'feeling then just stays perfectly still, I then feel like I need to stretch to accomodate the 'fist' and then it feels a little better

Update for my daughter re loading injections. and the rest.
My daughter has her appt with GP yesterday - she's 19 and although I was planning to go, had to agree when she said she wanted to do it on her own. Which I regretted! Here is the earlier thread which contains her results etc.: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/149760385/daughter-starting-b12-
