I've had an in-depth blood tests done which has flagged multiple issues, it seems my health is in much worse shape than I'd realised. Iron is one of the flagged areas.
I'd be grateful if you could advise on what my next steps should be.
Results are:
Iron 4.9hmol/l (5.8-34.5)
Ferretin 81.68 hg/l (10-120)
Transferrin 2.09 g/l (2.0-3.8)
The unit measurements for Iron & ferretin are an upside down h, I'm just not sure how to type it!
Thanks

Your iron levels have really dropped since last year, ferritin can be falsely raised due to inflammation, I'd suggest you present these to your GP to be checked out for anaemia, your folate and B12 were low last year and not much improved 4 months ago have you been supplementing?
You have rapidly added a big dose of T3 which would have fired up you system and left you depleted, I don't understand your dosing as you started on 50mcg T4 (starter dose) saying this caused bloating which suggests a change of brand needed probably due to excipients but then rapidly added a huge dose of T3???
Thanks for replying. I stopped all Thyroid medication after my last post.
I did try another T4 brand but had the same problem. Bloating has been an issue for many years, but the T4 exacerbated it.
As for the T3, I was following a protocol from my doctor, this wasn't self led. He clearly thought his approach was appropriate. I wasn't alarmed as I've read articles and listened to Podcasts about adding in T3 in a similar way.
The blood test I had was extensive and is showing a great number of issues. Inflammation is one of them, as well as testing positive for H.pylori. It appears my whole body is in a mess. I'm feeling overwhelmed and fear this is my life now.
I am supposed to be seeing GP this morning about the H.pylori, the iron, inflammation and the report flagged an issue with pancreatic Amylase, however I have only had around 2 hours sleep so daren't drive. I will rearrange.
Yes I've been supplementing with Vit B Complex & B12.
Good to hear you are having a reset, worth tackling the H.pylori, vits and mins to get on an even keel before doing battle with Hypo symptoms again and hopefully many of these will be resolved.
The extreme approach to adding T3 touted online is often disastrous 😟
I'm with you on the sleepless night 🥱 restless dogs 😕
You have my sympathy about sleep, it's like torture.
My son is driving me to GP now. I'm dreading it as the report shows signs of Metabolic syndrome- including high cholesterol, high leptin, pre-diabetes.
I eat well (though not enough protein), but I'm changing to an anti-inflammatory diet to see if it helps lower the above.
