Amoxicillin and MTX
Hi all. You may remember my post about having a cold a little while back. Well this has developed into a chest infection and my GP had insisted I take two weeks off work even though I work from home and has advised I shield for the two weeks as well due to high covid cases in my area, which is fair enough

Off topic: it’s not the cough- part two!
Thank you dear people for your concern about my health and use of horrid antibiotics. First set of antibiotics were blue plastic looking Docycycline. Part Two are huge things “horsepills” called Co-amoxiclav. Thank you to the good folk who gave me ideas about swallowing these Halloween monsters! Finally

Bronchiectasis & chronic chest infections
Hi. Just found this thread & am finding it very interesting. I've had 10 courses of antibiotics in 14 months and still have my chest infection. I'm at my wits end. I have thr drs again Monday. I am always given a week's course of either Amoxicillin or Doxycycline. Does anyone know if I need a longer

H Pylori
So, paid a visit to the doctor, had a load of blood tests including one for H Pylori. Turns out I am positive. Did you know that 40% of the population is affected by H Pylori but only 10 % exhibit symptoms? Which are severe and mimic other symptoms. It's a simple blood test for peace of mind. The medications

Any advice would be great
I was diagnosed with asthma and bronchiectasis in 2019 and muddled along quite nicely until June this year when I developed a flare up. In July, proteus mirabilis was identified in my sputum and I was started on a two weeks course of amoxicillin. I gave another specimen of sputum in a week later and

Broken NHS!

The current status on third Pfizer COVID Booster
The CDC, the NIH and even Fauchi seem determined to run behind the curve of the best available information. But must face the facts of the need for a booster after six months. Perhaps it will become available by September? In the meantime on a personal note, my wife recovered smoothly and progressively

Bronchiestasis sufferer who takes Citalopram
Hi, I was diagnosed with Bronchiestasis by ct scan 5 years ago but my Consultant says my condition has deteriorated so in addition to rescue 2 week pack of amoxicillin he now wants to go on azithromycin, but before I can start on it I have to have a check on my heart, because I also take the antidepressant

Pains and recovery
Thankfully after 3 month these headaches have calmed down a little, still get them occasionally compared to all day every day, mostly only get them now if I do to much activity or out in sun for a little while . Iv put that down to sensitivity on scalp for the weird sensation of burning but more convinced

Pain meds with sensitive Kidney levels
Hi everyone, I had 2 episodes of where my gfr dropped from 68 to below 60 on the average 57. Once when I started taking Glucosamine and another when my blood pressure medicine manufacturer changed. It appears I am sensitive to the inactive ingredients but since there are several we don’t know which

Has anyone else had experience of antibiotics specifically Co-amoxiclav raising platelets?
Has anyone else had experience of antibiotics specifically Co-amoxiclav raising platelets? I've been through a Bone Marrow Transplant to treat leukemia (2015) and one of the side effects is I am susceptible to ITP, it doesn't persist like most people's rather it occurs roughly every 2 years with no

HELP! I’m afraid to take this medication.
Has anyone taken amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium? Does it cause any issues with afib? I also take sotalol. It is an antibiotic.

New here! How normal is this?
I was diagnosed with a bacterial middle ear infection after I started getting persistent ear ringing for a few days. This was diagnosed over the phone by an ENT doctor so it's possible that I didn't actually have the infection. I was prescribed amoxicillin. Is it normal for the ringing to persist even

New technique allows for identification of potential drugs to fight resistant bacteria
Researchers from the Miami University in Ohio have optimized a new technique that will allow scientists to evaluate how potential inhibitors work on antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This technique, called native state mass spectrometry, provides a quick way for scientists to identify the best candidates

Mychophenolate and Amoxicillin
Hi, A few days ago, my dentist prescribed me amoxicillin for my painful tooth. I was reading online about it. I read an article saying it is not recommended to be prescribed to someone who takes mychophenolate mofetil. Is this right ? And if so what should I do
