Off topic: it’s not the cough- part two!

Thank you dear people for your concern about my health and use of horrid antibiotics.

First set of antibiotics were blue plastic looking Docycycline.

Part Two are huge things “horsepills” called Co-amoxiclav. Thank you to the good folk who gave me ideas about swallowing these Halloween monsters!

Finally feeling some improvement.

Glad to hear you're starting to feel better. Doxycycline were my saviour when I used to get awful sinusitis many years ago. When I was prescribed Co Amoxiclav a few years back, the nurse called them beasts (I think it was because they are quite strong). Hope it's all cleared for you soon. x

Glad to hear you're starting to improve. I went through a phase of needing co amoxiclav for horrible chest infections associated with my bronchiectasis, they are absolute whoppers to swallow but always did the job . I found it helpful to have a pro biotic yoghurt every day to help my stomach when taking them.

It sounded very exotic! I love trying new yogurt so I was excited! How sad is that? I used to get excited about new discos/ clothes/ holidays. 😃

My Doxy are quite small? Odd. Perhaps they’ve given you a higher dose. Mine are usually 100mgs over 14 days. Could never swallow a fluffy type tablet that starts dissolving in the throat. I have to take everything as capsules. 😑

Don’t think I would take any now after side affects and spending 3days in hospital finding I was allergic to them. Please check ok with your regular medication because obviously chemist didn’t when I was given mine.

Yes I’m mending but broken ribs take couple of months and it was only a month ago. Yes because never had a bad reaction to medication before with blackouts etc and I live alone

Thank you Sylvi! This has been going on for three weeks now. I get to the end of the prescription and it comes back. So fed up with lack of sleep and coughing!Hope your finger is better today.

Hope you are feeling better. Doxy are one of two drugs I can have if needed as i am allergic to everything, they work for me though x

I had never heard of them before! More new stuff to learn about- does it have to be medication? Could it be exotic holiday destinations ?Hope they help you 😄

I had a cough for 5 years until I was prescribed azithromycin 500mg 3 times a week as a prophylactic and for my asthma. My cough stopped after about 3 weeks and I haven’t coughed since! Nobody could work out why a coughed. Azithromycin is the same size as yours and I call them my horse pills too. I also take Adcal, an antihistamine and a capsule for my eye health (I have macular) and they’re all a similar size!

What is the matter with these pill makers? When you feel so ill that you need the blasted things the last thing you need is a lesson on swallowing rocks!Help us out here! Manufacturing tiny tablets would be a dream for us!

Glad you are improving good to hear think I might be going back for a similar prescription tomorrow hope I get amoxyclav like you they are beasts but I’ve had two rounds of doxycycline and even worse ciprofloxacin which I swear I will never have again !! Glad you seem to have found something which seems to help. I’m going to try and get a f2f with GP tomorrow think I proper chat is in order.
