Prostatitis - Despair
I haven't got prostate cancer as far as I know - but I thought this might be a good place to post After many months of being messed around by the medical profession at my own expense and urging I was finally diagnosed with chronic bacterial prostatitis with "a heavy growth of enterococcus faecilis"

Pretty frightened!
Hi All. In early June I went to Exmoor, and our dogs got covered in spider like ticks. Fast forward a week and I had an itchy bite on my back, which then had an expanded area of redness. It wasn't a bullyeye, and it wasn't oval with clear boundaires, but it was definitely expanding but in all different

Antibiotics - cure or poison?
I've finally, belatedly been diagnosed with Chronic Prostatitis - my treatment at the hands of the medical profession has been a total disgrace - fobbed off with a variety of rubbish. Anyway, be that as it may, I found a Consultant who listened to me, I insisted on having an appropriate test carried

Now on Humira and MTX and a week of Steriods
Not liking having to get back on steroids but my Iritis flared back up on MTX and my joints are hurting like nobody's business. Also had a slew of bloodwork done as the amoxicillin I took may have clashed with my Dose... *sigh* My doctor registred me with a nursing chapter to come and show me how to

My latest treatment
The chest infection that developed after a ‘normal’ cold was treated thanks to a 7 day course of Amoxicillin + 5 day supply of the miracle Prednisolone x 8 per day. I am now Back onto the Carbocisteine x 3 over 24hours and so far I can cope with the hot weather in recent days ok.

Bell’s palsy diagnosed this week
After a horrible year I’ve now got this to deal with 😪 but having read more I wonder if it’s Ramsay hunt syndrome? I went to a&e on Tuesday with my face drooping and had extensive tests for a stroke. My ear was seemingly very red inside but not bad enough for antibiotics. I had to go to out of hours

Mirtazapine v amoxicillin
Have been prescribed amoxicillin for a dental infection, having taken them since yesterday I felt really nauseous & shaky today. I did go into chemist to ask how they would interact with the antidepressant’s that I’m on.....and they said it would be fine as it was just a short course anyway. Anyone else

Is it possible to have pernicious anaemia despite B12 in the normal range?
Hi everyone. I have been ill since March this year and am at my wits end. Please can someone out there tell me if this timeline and symptoms resonate with anyone? My normal blood tests shows normal range of B12: 388 (189-883) and Folate: 6.8 (4.8-19), is it possible to be deficient and still be in the

Hello all..........first time poster🙂
Would appreciate some advice please. I have severe emphysema and have been in hospital several times over the last few months with the dreaded chest infections. The hospital consultant has put me on theophylline tablets (200mg), but I’m finding I’m even more breathless with taking these. I’m also on

Probiotics
My specialist has told me to take 2 x 500 mg Amoxycillin three times a day (so twice my normal dose when I get one of my frequent chest infections) for a period of six weeks instead of the normal two weeks. This is in an attempt to eradicate the haemophilis bug which has been happily living in my lungs
