I got Rheumatoid arthritis and SLE and taking hydroxychloroquine and azathioprine. The last couple of weeks I’ve notice that I got a lump near my ear and jaw and it’s been painful especially when I chewed my food. I’ve been to my GP and he prescribed co-amoxiclav for 7 days. Had my last dose today, the lump has gone done a lot but it still there and painful. Anyone had this problem before?

Swollen salivary gland
Hi if it’s still painful, you should go back to G.P. Be persistent, salivary glands can prove to be a problem if not dealt with.
Good luck

Thank you for your reply. I’m going to see my dentist and I will book another appt to see my GP again this week.x
Hi, just to say that I also had this problem, it turned out to be benign tumours on the salivery glands. One has been taken out but the other isn't big enough. Never mind that it hurts like billio, even if it is too 'small'! I hope you get yours sorted, it's not a nice place to have anything, even laying on it is impossible. Take care x
Hello I had this problem when I was younger (now 76) it turned out to be a stone in the salivary gland, this happened 3 times & each time I was admitted to hospital to have the stone removed, I am not saying this is your problem but you could have this checked out.
I hope it is resolved soon for you, kind regards
