Results - we're getting there?
I just got new labs after being diagnosed hypo (TSH 16) about 3 months ago. Doc put me on lowest dose (USA) levo and my TSH dropped too low and she reduced the rx ver minimally. I asked her to check T3 and T4 but she declined (surprise, surprise) so I did my own and these are the latest results. Other

Happy update for a change
thanks to all who gave me support when I have been complaining of fatigue and excessive sleepiness. So far this year I have seen an endo who has believed me and looked out of the box and tested for other things, all came back negative. Then I went to a sleep clinic and again negative for sleep apnea

So sorry! Another supplement enquiry. B vitamins, excluding b12?
I received my sublingual b12 vitamins today (1000 mcg Methylcobalamin, taking 2 to begin with as level is 372 ng/L [> 180]) but I wonder whether I should still be supplementing with other b vits as well, including folic acid (my folate is 16 ng/ml [4.6 - 34.8)? I don't want to miss important ones out

Next autoimmune disease?
Hi all I'm pretty stable on levothyroxine and T3 although some vitamin levels had dropped (D and folate which I'm trying to correct). I have noticed over the past year, strange symptoms which I'd marked as being thyroid-related though when I went to my doctor, he told me that not everything is related

Do you like to eat FISH ? It is one of the healthiest foods.
Among few things that everyone seems to agree on is that fish is good for you. There are many varieties of fish which are commonly eaten, these include salmon, trout, haddock, cod, sardines and many others. In India commonly eaten fresh water fishes are rohu, katla, mangur and hilsa etc. Fish is rich in

Vitamin B6/Pyridoxine
Hi everyone. For the last few weeks I've been supplementing B vitamins, namely B Complex, methylcobalamin and pyridoxine. My concern is that my pyridoxine intake is reaching very high levels (currently over 4,000 mg/day). Without these amounts, I experience sweats, high resting heart rate, pulsatile

Hypothyroidism check. Blood results.
Have my results back now. My thyroid profile and antibodies are normal as are my B vitamins, inflammatory marker and ferritin. The results suggest I have vitamin D insufficiency and that, to stop it progressing on to a deficiency, they recommend supplementing with 20-50mcg(800-2000iu) of vitamin D per

SCARY FATIQUE
Hi guys. Would like to get your thoughts on a strange problem. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last autumn. I also have Hashimoto. I've been taking levothyroxine for about 6 months (50mcg). To begin with, it really helped with my tiredness and TSH (it's now 0.6). Last time my endo told me to reduce

Do I not require blood test for folic acid anymore
Diagnosed by haematologist 33 years ago folic acid deficiency, twenty years later doctor told me did not need it, hence two years later very anemic back on folic acid, 3 years later vitamin B injections for four months as well as usual tablets 2 years later (now) doctor does not test for this any more

Vitamin C and Vit B12
I have just read the following comment: Vitamin C may destroy vitamin B12 (avoid large doses of vitamin C within one hour of taking oral vitamin B12).3,4 All B vitamins act synergistically and excess levels of one may lead to imbalance or deficiency in others. It is advisable to take B vitamins as

Struggling to solve hypothyroid puzzle, please help
I have had hypothyroid symptoms for as long as I can remember but they have become much worse after an adverse drug reaction 2 years ago. I have tested all the hormones and the only abnormality was free t3/reverse t3 ratio, and somewhat high cortisol. I have subsequently taken t3 only at good doses

Good news for a rainy morning??
I have just received a copy of a letter to my gp from my consultant with the results of my recent ultrasound. (This was back in Feb when I was jaundiced and have fluid retention again). It says that the ultrasound shows an irregular looking liver with the enlarged spleen. Shows minimal ascites. Liver
