IBS Diagnosis - Correct? Stress related?
The doctor has currently given me
Amitriptyline
, but I'm not sure how much it is helping aside from making me bloated and a bit drowsy. Thank you.

Amitriptyline - Dosages etc.
What dosages are people on & what time/s of day are they taking it? Has anyone come off it with success ? Are you taking it for IBS C or D ? I take mine for the nerve pain I suffer with with IBS-C & just wondering how everybody else uses it. Thanks in advance

Does either (or both) Steroids/Amitriptyline cause heart palpitations/anxiety attack?
Looking back i have noticed that when I am higher steroids I sometimes get random increased heart palpitations but i feel like this time was slightly worse than before so I am wondering if
amitriptyline
may also cause it as well.

He suggested I take
amitriptyline
. I resist that for several reasons, and I do enjoy not having cold feet any more.

Tinnitus and Amitriptyline 10mg.
My question is for those who have tried low dose of
Amitriptyline
, is is normal to get worse before it gets better ? How long would I need to wait to notice the effect/improvement? Not sure if give it another try.

I had a constant headache for 19 months and no medication worked until I was put on
Amitriptyline
for pain for arthritis and that actually took the edge off my headache but done nothing for the pain but I’m great full that it’s helped with my head! The fatigue is like nothing I can describe....

Fatigue affecting my wirk
I’m on
amitriptyline
at night although it’s not having any impact yet. Also I’m a teaching assistant at a primary Schl and I’m finding it really hard to stay awake in the afternoons. My eyes just want to close. Anyone else feel the same?

A Different Perspective
He recommended
amitriptyline
but fully understood my hesitancy to go back on them (that's another story!) and said there were several other alternative medications I could try IF I wanted to.

Side effects of Amitriptyline
I have tried taking 10mg of
Amitriptyline
I am OK for about 10 days then I stop sleeping and it effects my brain. As a matter of interest has anybody else had this problem.

Having joint pain and swelling and prescribed Amitriptyline
I was put on
amitriptyline
for PHN and was told that it can also help with joint pain. I just went on 50mg yesterday, I wanted to know has anyone had any experience with this drug for joint pain? And did your joint appear swollen but no marked inflammation?

Neurology appointment
He agreed and said that as the injury that started the cycle has healed, we could try a slow reduction of pain relief and introduce disease modifying medication for the arthritis and
amitriptyline
for night time to try to improve sleep.

GP reducing pain relief
I was given
amitriptyline
but couldn’t take it as it is contraindicated in psychosis and it was only when I received it I picked up on this. Naproxen gave chest pain like heartburn so had to stop that a while ago.

Why has my GP prescribed amitriptyline for me?
Then I went online and found that
amitriptyline
is indeed mainly used to help people with depression. Does my doctor think I am depressed? Is that why she's prescribed
amitriptyline
? However, I found some web-pages which suggest it is prescribed for other conditions as well.
