Just stopped taking Amiodarone 200mg And gone onto Bisoprolol 5mg daily
Still not feeling good after swapping medications and not sure if it’s the
Amiodarone
still in my system or the Bisoprolol that is making me feel weird and panicky. And a bit sick at times any advice please. Mike

I would only do this if she had an inappropriate TSH with normal T4 and was taking some medication that potentially could interfere with the conversion such as
Amiodarone
.

AF and thyroid function
I was prescribed Levothyroxine many years ago as a result of my thyroid being affected by
Amiodarone
. It is several years since I stopped taking
Amiodarone
and I had no prior history or family history of thyroid problems and no symptoms.

Have stopped Amiodarone and gone back to 2.5mg of Bisoprolol
After almost three weeks on
Amiodarone
including a 300mg loading for first week I am still feeling sick at times having weird dreams and feeling generally worse than when on 2.5mg of Bisoprolol. So have reverted back to Bisoprolol. Has anyone else had the same problems with
Amiodarone
? ?

Ectopics and tiredness
Just for info I am on
amiodarone
for AF, which has been brilliant at stopping my AF but of course Will be coming off this after 9 months because of possible side effects (see what happens then!). Also on usual beta blockers and an ace inhibitor.

Introducing myself
I Am currently taking
Amiodarone
100mg daily and Apixaban. I find both drugs make my FMS worse to the point I cannot walk well somedays. I struggle mental to take them because of side effects . I am on the waiting list for crying ablation which I feel very scared about.

UPDATE + CONCERN RE AMIODARONE
The plan is that I go on
Amiodarone
for 2-3 months and then we do a DC Cardioversion and get me back into sinus. Tonight I decided to have a read up on
amiodarone
and found an article claiming that it increased the risk of developing cancer in males, so I’m naturally concerned.

Three Month Check after 2nd Ablation
I’ve been taken of the
amiodarone
as of today and will continue with Rivaroxaban for a year. He did say that as the
amiodarone
wears off be prepared incase the AF episodes start up again but as it wasn’t very effective before the procedure he’s quietly confident that they won’t.

Reporting Drug Side Effects
For instance, having had my thyroid become under-active after taking the drug
Amiodarone
means I will now have to take another drug to correct this for life.

Post ablation and finally off amiodarone
My EP took me off
amiodarone
in December saying he hoped I would stay in NSR. My pulse is still regular but I have started getting very fast fluttery moments which only last a few minutes and often happen when I wake up or maybe they wake me up!
