Amiodarone - increased sensitivity to sunlight ?
One choice being offered is
Amiodarone
which in some patients causes an increased sensitivity to sunlight. I would appreciate any advice you can offer, is this side effect really common ? and if so how severe can the condition get.

Digoxin for persistent AF - side effects?
I was on
Amiodarone
for 2 years and felt the same about that initially as well, but it worked well until the thyroid problems started.

Is this possible???
I was then prescribed
Amiodarone
and booked in for a further cardioversion in August. We came away on 13th July to Spain as planned. Last Monday I had really bad pains in my left arm and shoulder and finished up in intensive care in a hospital in Benidorm.

"Slave to the rhythm" - again!
I have been in persistent AF since 28th Feb, having had to come off
Amiodarone
(which worked well at controlling my AF but the side effects of the over active thyroid made me feel really ill).

First Ablation - one week on
No longer on the
Amiodarone
which is good news. Heart rate is still between 43 and 46 bpm but no major problems with it and Drs not too concerned. Back to work next week so am hoping recovery will continue as it has

After the operation for ascending aorta replacement
Amiodarone
was given as well. About 12 hours later, my heart went back into Sinus rhythm and could finally rest. Friday and Saturday were spent having various drains, pipes, wires and my pacing wires removed. On the Saturday, I went for an ECG and echocardiogram.

Aortic Valve surgery
I was put on an
Amiodarone
drip which eventually (after 2 hours) stopped the condition. When the drip ran out it was replaced by the tablet form of the same drug. On leaving hospital I was given a prescription for these tablets (3 a day week 1, 2 a day week 2, and 1 a day week 3.

Failed Cardioversion
Amiodarone
200 mg and Rivaroxaban 20 mg whilst still continuing with Diltiazem. 180 mg and Nebivolol. 5 mg. Booked in again in six weeks to try again. Has anybody had success second time again with the chemical route. Feeling like I am right back at the beginning tonight.

Coming off Amiodarone
I have been off this drug now for about 2 weeks. My cardiologist reduced the dosage from one tablet a day to alternate days earlier this year but at my most recent appointment he advised stopping altogether now. I had a cardioversion last Sept which was successful and I have, it seems, remained in rhythm

What’s worse. Bradycardia or AF?
About 3 weeks ago I started
Amiodarone
. One week later I'm back in Sinus after almost nine months of being in persistent AF. I ended up in hospital twice as I felt really ill; fatigued, light headed, slightly sick etc.

Photodermatitis and Amiodarone
Has anyone experienced this while taking
Amiodarone
? I've had a rash break out on both of my forearms and my doctor says it resembles photodermatitis, sensitivity to UV rays. I've been on
Amiodarone
since March 2019, never had anything like this before...I also take Lisinopril.

Try some DNA based supplements
I had a bad experience with
amiodarone
and many other drugs. Finally went to plant based supplements based on my DNA and am having much better results.
