Advice and questions -now in permanent Atrial Flutter?

After my third ablation with two cardio versions that resulted in nsr two or three weeks after cv, my EP will not convert me. since I was on the strongest drug Amiodarone there is no medication I can take- Flecanide gave me prolonged qt wave.

My problem is flutter- and I am so uncomfortable at 100bpm- For years my hr has been 65. I can’t walk for hikes , bike - my EP wants my goal to be able to function. Mostly I just don’t feel well.

All of a sudden Metoprolol makes me feel horrible and I have taken it since 2008. Lowers to 85 but goes back up. Now to try Ditalzam

Who has has similar experiences and did Ditalzam help lower HR? I was offered a fourth ablation? Who has had four or five ablation? Who has flutter?

I was also offered a pacemaker (pace and ablate)

What was your experience?

Yes I will take magnesium, work on diet, if I could I would increase my walking- EP wants my to exercise-

Will greatly appreciate your responses

flutter ablation is usually very successful so you should ask your EP why three tries havent succeeded Im assuming you don't have AF as well as that's harder to sort out. You can have flutter in the left atrium as well as the right (usual) so presumably they've looked at both? Maybe seek a second opinion >

Thanks and yes I am thinking of doing a phone consult with Dr Natalie in Texas - I had heard of him prior to my first ablation- but it is a two day drive or flight cost ? I have the option of a pacemaker?

I was successfully cardioverted twice for Afib, but then my final diagnosis was that i now had AFlutter.

After long deliberation i had an ablation to treat flutter and i have been in NSR for 18 months.

While in Flutter i was on Bisoprolol & Rivaroxaban.

Flecainide, which had previously been used on one occasion to cardiovert me, had no effect while in Flutter.

I do now take Magnesium Taurate regularly and exercise also.

Good luck

Interesting to hear that Flecanide had no effect on Flutter- explains my last event before my choice to have a third ablation- but I still have flutter ☹️

I’ve heard from other sources that flutter isn’t responsive to Flecainide.

Fingers crossed for your next ablation

So I should go for a Fourth Ablation?

Oh! I misread your post and thought you were waiting for your third ablation.

I’m not qualified to say that you should go for a fourth. I was lucky to have success on my first one ....so far🤞
