I don't like amiodarone
Good Evening just wanted to say I have been taking
amiodarone
for a month, my Doctor tried to reduce the dosage and nothing has worked I have trouble sleeping at night but can't seem to stay awake in the daytime for long periods of time. And the cough I have is awful.

AF Without Symptoms
Im on Rivaroxoban and
Amiodarone
, the
Amiodarone
has brought my pulse down to 50 - 55 bpm I walk 6 to 10 miles most days over hilly terrain, never out of breath, only breathing slightly more on the steep hills. Is it common to have AF and feel fairly normal?

Update on Ablation number 2
My EP wants me to continue the
Amiodarone
(yes I know how toxic it is but I’m having regular checks) until April when the 3 month blanking period officially finishes to give the heart time to heal although I’ve been taking it since September and I was still having very frequent and lengthy episodes whilst

CPAP Trial - one week in
So far there’s no improvement with the AF, in fact Friday was one of my worst days for a while with about 8 hours of it (that may also be associated with the
Amiodarone
getting out of my system as I stopped that 3 weeks ago).

Three years from diagnosis
In between, I was
amiodarone
for six weeks to stabilise me. The Mini-maze, in April 2017 was rough; it took me quite a few days to get over and three weeks before I was able to go back to work.

Ended up in A&E,
Amiodarone
infusion and on the Coronary Care Unit. Still in AF this morning, the longest I have experienced. Seeing the Cardiologist later to find out what’s going on.!

Long term medication
I have been prescribed Bisprolol (beta blocker) twice/day and
Amiodarone
(antiarrhythmic) once/day. Have others been prescribed the same or similar medication and for how long did they have to take it.

Amiodarone
I don’t know if it’s the
Amiodarone
or a bug I may have picked up. I guess it could also be BPPV. Coming off
Amiodarone
this week with any luck, 10 weeks is enough!

What a day
I saw my EP this morning and he’s taken me off
Amiodarone
(yay!). I’m not sure how I’ll go when it eventually gets out of my system. I’m still on Digoxin and Atenolol but even the 3 drugs together weren’t controlling things fully. He was discussing the prospect of another ablation.
