Ursodiol Dosage
I was recently diagnosed with PBC. The doctor said I was in the very early stages and prescribed Ursodiol. I take 500mg twice a day. Is that the typical dosage for this disease?

First time Rheumatologist, not happy
Hi everyone, had PMR for 5 and a half years, started on 15mg of pred and had got down to 3 mg, then had my first flare last November and had to go back to starting dose, this time it was in neck, shoulders and hips as usual, but also in my wrists, mentioned it to my GP and she said it might be RA and

About Magnesium
Hi everyone. I've bought magnesium as I've heard great things about it. I'm not expecting a miracle cure or anything but I'm curious to try it. The only thing is I don't want to use it as a sleep aid just yet. I'd like to first try it out during the daytime, in the morning when my anxiety feels the worst

Just a little info about ursodiol
I found this article to be interesting. https://www.gastrojournal.org/article/S0016-5085(04)02000-1/fulltext My niece gave me this link to read. It’s a little outdated so not sure how accurate it is.

Effects of ursodiol
I have a niece who is into natural remedies for anything medical that requires medication. She was researching ursodiol and found that it can cause cancer Asked if I would try something natural instead. Is this an issue? Can it in actual fact cause cancer ??

Sleep Aid
One of the things I have found with RLS is that my head occasionally gets very hot and I end up turning my pillow over several times whilst trying to get to sleep. Recently I looked on the internet to see if there was an electrically cooled pillow, which there wasn't, but I found a Gel Pad that has

Alendronic acid
Hi all, Is there anyone who has had good Dexa scan results when taking Alendronic acid. If so, how long did you take it for, and how long have you been off it.

How much fat do we actually need?
There are some on this forum who think they need to eat a high-fat diet. There are others, like myself, who eat a predominantly low-fat diet. So let me ask how much fat is in your diet? Can you give an idea is terms of either weight or calories per day? Do you think that is enough? Why is it enough

PMR 101
Good Morning All I was lucky enough to be able to attend the meeting @ Artizan Library yesterday in London and learned lots from Dr Kate Gilbert. Glad to hear PMR & GCA are becoming of interest to researchers. I think some well known celeb or royal needs to get it for it to become a fashionable disease

Managing Chronic Kidney Disease: the Acid/Base Balance Approach
I am a 70 year old biologist with some medical education as well. I recently had a radical nephrectomy due to Renal Cell Carcinoma. My post operative blood chemistry changed dramatically w my eGFR dropping from 70 to 38 with corresponding somewhat dramatic increase in Creatinine, Phosphorus and Potassium

I think my GP is fed up with me but she is also pushing to get me seen by endometriosis specialist/gynaecologist. In between

Walnuts and cholesterol
A large study in 2018 from Harvard University combined the results of 26 different studies examining the effects of walnut consumption on blood lipid levels and other risk factors for cardiovascular disease. What they found was that those eating one portion of walnuts a day (28g) had lower total cholesterol
