Dear All,
Thank you for your support and guidance.
My Dad is 60 years young with 59.6 kg body weight. He is based in India and currently getting his treatment in Medanta The Medcity hospital in Gurugram (Near New Delhi). I forgot to mention that he is diabetic as well. Diabetes was also diagnosed at the same time as APC. Does this changes anything?
One and a half month ago, Dad was diagnosed in advance prostate cancer with Gleason score 9 (4+5) and with multiple Mets in multiple bones.
4 weeks ago he went through orchiectomy and last week he went through his first chemotherapy therapy. Doctors are giving him Docetaxal + wysone, Zoledronic acid and biclutamide.
After chemotherapy he is having moderate to severe pain in calf muscle, severe weakness and semi-solid to liquid rounds in the toilet. Is this normal? Is this is how he is going to react after every chemotherapy? What can we expect after every chemotherapy? The plan is for 6 cycles of chemotherapy.
Also, One of the doctors gave him Ultracet for his pain which is sort of opioid. That medicine is making me uneasy. Shall we stop Ultracet?
Kindly do let me know with your comments what to expect so that we can make decisions based on knowledge and not on emotions.
Thanks and Regards
Shahbaz Azmi
