"Probable Myocardial infarction of indeterminate age".
I've had afib for about a year and a half and it's reasonably well controlled, it seems, by bisoprolol and aPixaban. Consultant advised to leave it alone and will probably need a pacemaker in the future. He did an ECG on me yesterday and the words at the top of the print out were what I have shown at

My dad died, now I'm back to square one
My dad died a week ago from a heart attack. Since then I became very anxious, afraid to go to the toilet at night, afraid me too will suffer a heart attack. I know my physical symptoms are due to anxiety, but my anxiety makes me doubt this. My husband and I are going overseas in March and leaving our

are you sticking with riveroxaban or asking to change to Apixaban in light of recent research?
after heart attack, cardiac arrest leaving me in continuous AFib for 3 months requiring a cardio version ( heart attack caused by blood clot cholesterol normal) I’ve been on all the heart medications including riveroxaban with no real problems from the medications. I now have reduced ejection fraction

Afib and cholesterol
Have any of you been put on statins just because you have Afib ? As you all know I had my ablation last November and recently had my bloods done and my cholesterol was 5.7 so I was told by the doctors receptionist that I have two choices I either book an appointment to see the nurse about it or I can

Almost 1 year after heart attack and this happened........
Hi, so last February I had a minor heart attack and had a stent fitted. It was a shock as I was only 45. I've had the odd twinge every now and then but generally things are ok. Last week I was driving in my car when I felt a sudden bout of chest pain - it was quite specifically in one area and

Statins to be extended to 15m extra people
I've just read this article ( https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jan/12/new-statins-guidelines-nice-nhs-england ) Paul Chrisp, the director of the centre for guidelines at Nice, said: “What we’re saying is that, for people with a less than 10% risk over 10 years of a first heart attack or stroke

Post cryoablation
I had my ablation on Friday 16th Dec 2022.Everything went fine but I was on the operating table for about 5 hours. I have a narrowing in my oesophagus so access was difficult. Anyway I had bad chest pains on the Monday night so went to A&E where I had blood tests which found I had a rising Cardiac Troponin

I would like to thank all of you for your comments and replying to my post, it is such a reassurance to chat with others and their experiences , I had only 1 tumour measuring 3 and a half centimetres , which since the 1 TACE treatment has shrunk on each occasion I have had the 2 scans , I also went

AF and now coronary artery disease at 47. I recently had a CT angiogram and the results aren’t great. Back to being scared and worried.
So I first came on this forum with my Afib diagnosis and was terrified and depressed about the diagnosis and medications. I had good news from my echocardiogram as I had no damage at all. The last hurdle was a CT angiogram sadly I’ve not made it so well past this hurdle. I’m absolutely gutted to be honest

A Tip!
if you have AF ( with a family history of heart disease as I have) and start getting angina-type symptoms, don’t waste time trying to convince yourself that’s it costocondritis as I did. . Get yourself checked out with an angiogram as soon as possible. In my area it has one of the shortest waiting lists

Artane
I was on Artane [Trihexyphenidyl ] for stiffness and within 2 weeks of taking it I had severe hallucinations , I thought the doctor would of decreased my dosage , but she increased it. I really wish I did not do that. It was a mistake and it took some time to get over it.

Can medication be reduced after a certain time with no problems?
In 2012 I had a heart attack which resulted in the insertion of a stent, fortunately prompt treatment meant there was no major damage to my heart, although I started getting AF attacks in 2016. In 2017 I started taking 100mg of Flecainide and this was successful in stopping my AF attacks. In 2020 I

some good news
I was diagnosed with liver cancer with 2 tumours, one measuring 3 1/2 cm, in June of last year. The oncologists said I would do well to have two years but with a treatment called TACE I am now cancer free. I do have cirrhosis which they say is the reason that I have the liver cancer, I also have varises
