Biotin and FT4/FT3 testing
We have seen discussions about the effect of biotin on thyroid tests (TSH, FT4 and FT3). This paper has the singular advantage of concentrating on the results for a single person in particular circumstances. That means, we see the specific effects of the biotin on one assay but not on another. Very

tirosint 50
Hi everyone, Up till now I have been taking Thybon T3 only but my doctor wanted me to add T4 , so I added Tirosint 50. I did feel tired so I reduced my T3 slightly. My question is, do I take the T4 with the T3 in the morning, or before? I also take T3 in evening. I am trying to do bloods, tried twice

itchy eyelashes
hi. I’m 6 or7 years diagnosed with lupus, I’ve had a few different treatments over those years., but this is not about treatment.I’ve had some terrible symptoms over the years, and I feel a bit awful complaining about this minor issue now, but it is troubling me. It’s nothing compared to what I initially

Question on product for eyelashes
I have frontal fibrosing
alopecia
and also have no eyebrows and few eyelashes (which used to be black, long and lush). Because I'm 70 years old I have droopy eyelids and false eyelashes don't stay on well.

Iron supplement help
Have made a few posts here about hair loss/ low ferritin. I have ordered the three arrows iron repair to see if I can increase ferritin. Can anyone tell me from my recent results, if one 20mg capsule a day would push my other results over the range? Or would it take a much larger amount? I also take

Bioton & testing + another question....
Guys, How long do you have to stop taking biotin before doing your thyroid bloods? I've heard 2 days is sufficient..... And can someone tell me the difference in licensed T3 (liothyronine) & unlicensed? Not that I'm on T3, but I'm wondering... Cheers

4 months on hair update
It must be 4 months on now since meds increased. The hair loss has continued to be greatly reduced from what it was doing. Everytime I wash or touch my hair I am not seeing 100s come out. I can brush my hair and not have loads lost. Still more come out than used to before all this. But not enough to

Worried about taking Provera for late period
NICE lists
alopecia
as a very common/common side effect. My doctor said that because I'm taking it for a few days that anything happening is low, but last year I only took a few antibiotic tablets and now I have permanent tinnitus.

Biotin & Blood Work
Hi. I would appreciate your thoughts regarding biotin supplementation and how much time one should leave between a dose of biotin and a blood test measuring FT3, FT4 & TSH? I am really not sure, and getting conflicting info online. Some say 24h is okay, and other sources say anywhere between 3-7 days

Dry Eye Syndrome
Has anyone else with
alopecia
been diagnosed with this. Or could it be more linked to my thyroid than my
alopecia
as it is swollen and being monitored with borderline readings.

Medichecks advice about B12 and Biotin
Edit! I see that I myself asked this same question a few months ago! Going mad or I claim brain fog! heh. Sorry. https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/148331302/medichecks-thyroid-test-and-b12 Medichecks have told me to stop Biotin 2 days before a test and B12 two weeks before a test

Latest TSH result
Morning all, I’ve just had my latest test results back after being on 75mg one day and 50mg alternatively. My previous dose was 50mg daily. It looks as though it’s only changed by 0.1 after 6 weeks. I’m obviously under medicated as I still feel pretty rubbish with no energy, extreme tiredness, hair

Hair Loss with Hypothyroidism / Levothyroxine
One of the distressing symptoms that gets asked about here on the forum, is about hair loss. Often, the member has been recently started on levothyroxine, noticed a marked increase in hair loss and is convinced that this is a 'side effect'of the medication. I came across this article, which I feel explains
