Latest TSH result

Morning all,

I’ve just had my latest test results back after being on 75mg one day and 50mg alternatively. My previous dose was 50mg daily. It looks as though it’s only changed by 0.1 after 6 weeks. I’m obviously under medicated as I still feel pretty rubbish with no energy, extreme tiredness, hair loss etc. I’ve an appointment tomorrow so I’m wondering should I ask to try 75mg every day or alternate with 100mg then 75mg. According to my test result they think I’m satisfactory 🙄

Other than needing a 25mcg dose increase as your TSH is too high. Love tattybogle response.

Your folate is deficient. Make appointment with GP to get prescribed 5mg folic acid.

B12 could be higher. Buy a good B complex which helps keep allthe B's in balance. This one is good. amazon.co.uk/Yipmai-Liposom...

D3 could be a bit higher to around 100. Use this calc to work out how much to take according to result/weight. Buy D3 with K2 to help it go to the bones. grassrootshealth.net/projec...

Ferritin is good. 👍

Amazingly helpful Lab comment though..

( NHS !) lab... comment says "adequate replacement is 0.2 -2 ...and over 2 is considered under-replacement ... "

Quick ... everybody move to West Yorkshire :)

Not to this GP though .. GP comment say's 'Satisfactory '

GP presumably can't read then ?

edit :

use this list of recommendations for GP's to keep TSH between 0.4/0.5 and 2/ 2.5 in patient on levo healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... my-list-of-references-recommending-gp-s-keep-tsh-lower

( and that very helpful lab comment )..... to ask GP "for trial increase for a few months to see if it improves symptoms" , preferably 100/75mcg alternate i think given TSH is still over 2 and you still feel pants.

GP dose NOT know what TSH will be on increased dose until they try it... as long as it is still above 0.4 , those recommendations can be used to request further increase if needed...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
if TSH goes below 0.4 on increased dose then come back for further advice .. if everything else ( vit's etc etc ) has been optimised first , then this can be used .
I know right! What’s worse is that I’m booked in with that GP tomorrow. I should have also added that since about December I’ve had a continual sore throat so I’m going to ask her to feel my neck. I’m also under MSK for chronic shoulder & hand pain which is ongoing from 2018. Have had surgery on both shoulders. I’m hoping that an increase will help towards this 🤞🏻
Frozen shoulder extremely common with thyroid disease,
as is carpal tunnel in wrist
Sore throat could be acid reflux caused by LOW stomach acid, again extremely common when hypothyroid/on inadequate dose levothyroxine
Approx how old are you
Approx how much do you weigh in kilo
Definitely request increase to 75mcg daily
Have you had coeliac blood test done
Or are you already on gluten free diet
Hi I’m nearly 54 & weigh approx 56kg. Have put on 5lb though since Christmas and not shifting. I’ve not had a coeliac blood test ( not been offered ) and must admit I’m not on a gluten free diet yet. My GP’s aren’t that good tbh which can be quite frustrating. Appreciate all your replies.
so guidelines on dose by weight suggests you might eventually need Approx 89mcg per day …….so not far to go
Presumably you are now on B12 and vitamin B complex
Suggest you request coeliac blood test via GP (as per NICE guidelines)
Hi yes I bought the B12 from the hemp outlet as you suggested in January but stopped a week before my last blood test. I take B12 and Vit D daily too. I also requested not to be prescribed TEVA hence the 50 & 25mg tablets dosage.
