hi again my doctor lowered my thyroxine from 200 mg to 150 mg that was 5 weeks ago I’ve also been taking high strength biotin with zinc and selenium for about a week but twice now my eyes have swelled on the lids and underneath very red and itchy could this possibly be the biotin I’m fed up was just trying to improve my hair thanks

Levo-thyroxine adjustments should be by 25mcg. The greater drop might have caused more symptoms.

Was dose reduced due to low TSH? Were FT4 & FT3 actually tested and shown to be too high? What were results TSH, FT4 & FT3 & lab range. Have key nutrients been tested?

Biotin in significant levels has potential to interfere with blood test. Did you stop prior to test?

It’s possible an ingredient in one of supplements has caused reaction. Or has the brand of Levo been changed? You could stop the supplement & see if it improves.

Try an antihistamine & preservative free eye drops. Some do find eye issues develop with low thyroid levels.

Hi thanks for the reply yes one of them was high and I usually take biotin on its own but the one I’ve been taking had zinc and selenium in so don’t know if it’s one of those ingredients the biotin is 10000 wonder if it’s to much x
