Cardiac asthma and asthma
How to know if I have cardiac asthma (heart dysfunction) or normal asthma? After my researching they seem to have similar symptoms. Lately I've been experiencing shortness and hard to breath fully, sore and dry throat, cough, dry cough mostly and the cough is controllable. I sometimes feel sharp pain

Can ''Traces of nuts'' in cereals trigger an allergic reaction?
Hi everyone, I recently found out that I am allergic to peanuts, coconuts and even trees. For most of my life I have suffered from itchy skin which often lasts for up to a week before it calms down. I also find that before the itching starts my face breaks out in pus filled spots on the bridge of my

Does food talk?
Who knew that food could talk? - since going on a diet (three days ago) I have started to hear voices from food - yesterday I walked past a chocolate cake - I swear I heard it say "Eat me" . The question now is does all food speak with the same voice or do different foods speak with different accents

Hopefully through an episode
Woken up early hours not because can't breathe, but because I can and my body's not use to it. I have had asthma symptons for over three weeks, its been a prolonged episode. First noticed with a barking cough. So I started upping my preventer. Also started feeling out of breath, noticed the slowly down

Scar tissue and adhesions????
I have problems at the moment with my stoma which is continually backing up and blocking causing me digestive issues. I have seen the colorectal consultant and am due to have a colonoscopy in 10 days. My stomach is bloated and I feel nauseous a lot of the time. I have had a gastographin test and it

Asthma not settling after attack...
I've only ever had one asthma attack before my latest string of attacks and I bounced back quickly from that one. I just don't understand. One minute my asthma is under control and the next I'm in A&E on oxygen. I'm in my third week now (had other minor attacks since) and on my preventer (Fostair) 6

Embarrassed to be so eager to be diagnosed with asthma
I don’t think other people can understand how unsettling it is to not have a definitive diagnosis and plan of care. When you break your ankle, you have an X-ray, get a cast, use crutches, heal in a set number of weeks and everyone knows and it is easy to explain. As I’ve been bounced around to doctors

Things have turned a corner!
I'm very pleased to say that after a month in hospital which included Christmas Day, Matthew was discharged on the 28th December. He still has his stoma which we are managing at home and he weighs an almighty 5lbs 7oz which is huge for him! He just made it out of the teeny tiny clothes! He should have

Experts!
Why is it when you have asthma, suddenly everyone around you becomes an expert in YOUR asthma?! Safe to say I’m feeling frustrated and down after ending up in A&E again yesterday, third attack in two weeks! No chest infection, chest sounded clear after the meds, no logical explanation other than all

Asthma
Hi all. I was diagnosed with asthma as a child and was a lot worse than it is now. I don't really get any symptoms unless i'm doing something active, when i come down with an illness or when the air gets cold. Can asthma go away or can you only control it?

Can an asthma nurse tell if I have asthma when I have emphysema
Hi all. Like many people with copd I have been treated with inhalers for asthma for the last 3years. Only recently was it found that I have some emphysema after a ct scan for a heart operation. Nobody even mentioned it. I found it in my medical notes a year later. My question is can an asthma nurse tell

Can Post Nasal Drip Trigger Asthma?
Hi, I recently was diagnosed with what initially presented as seasonal asthma over the summer, which settled but then came back after a cold, which lingered for the best part of 3 weeks and I needed steroids to get my asthma stable again... I am also taking Avamys nasal spray as I also suffer from Eustachian

It’s the most wonderful time of the year; unless you’re asthmatic!
Sorry to keep posting on here but I’m feeling really down and fed up with my asthma and on here you just get it! I’m just not ‘bouncing back’ this time and it’s really bothering me as I just feel tired, achy and weak. This time of year is also rubbish for asthmatics; cold, damp weather, central heating

Asthma confession
Ok so I feel like an awful person even though I know full well that your first thought is not what counts, your second is.. But I can’t help but get frustrated at my best friend. They have moderate asthma and I love them to pieces and know that their mental health is in a really bad place but they smoke

Best asthma memory?
There’s always going to be a lot of negativity on forums like this and that’s totally fine because this is not a positive condition. We often hear about people’s terrible experiences with meds, doctors that don’t understand, etc. etc. But what’s everyone’s most positive asthma memory? For me, it’s Christmas
