Is my spacer working?
hi, I’m fairly new to all this. I have been using a vu plus spacer with my inhalers and previously it always made that honking noise when I inhaled too hard. However, yesterday it stopped doing that. I can breathe in as hard as I like it seems and it doesn’t make the noise, and it also feels different

Missing inhaler
I saw a practice nurse yesterday for my asthma and diabetes checks. She's referring me to the diabetes education course. She also said that she would find out why I've only got 1 inhaler, which is my blue reliever inhaler. She said that she going to ask if I can have a steroid inhaler, but I don't know

methadone and shortness of breath
Hi all, Apologize in advance for length of this post. I've had RLS for since my early 40s and spent about 14 years on DA drugs. A not unusual story with augmentation and switching over to pregabalin about 3 years ago- but the pregabalin not being entirely effective for symptoms. At that time I was

Is my FOSTAIR NEXThaler working correctly?
I have just taken receipt of my first FOSTAIR NEXThaler, and I’m concerned that I’m either not doing something correctly, or the inhaler is faulty? (OR it may be absolutely fine! 😃). When I breathe in deeply, I get the click and also a ‘spattering’ of tiny hard balls sprayed around my mouth, that I

Tight chest and pulse ox low
Morning, over the last 3 or so weeks I have been waking up with a very sore and tight chest. Also feeling like I haven't slept properly. I have a smart watch that measures pulse ox and when I've looked at the overnight readings they have dipped very low during the night. I know these watches aren't 100%

STRUGGLING TO BREATHE ?
I've seen a few comments here that some members are struggling to breathe at night ... 1. It could be that the warm air of heating is causing it .. try to open a window a little to let some air into the living room 2 Gp suggested to me that an air purifier with a hepa filter might help if only to

Steroid card Question
My combination inhaler is fostair 200/6 2 puffs twice a day. I carry a steroid card because I take this inhaler. However when I asked for another steroid card to put with my ventolin from the pharmacy yesterday, the pharmacist told me I don't need one. I am confused as I was told by asthma UK

Recently diagnosed with COPD
Just recently diagnosed with COPD after being treated for Asthma, diagnosed just before the pandemic. The diagnosis was as a result of spirometry test. I have not seen a specialist. I am on a daily inhaler. Reduced my chocolate and dairy intake. Looking forward to receiving advice and sharing experiences

Cramps
Hi do any of you suffer from hand or foot cramps caused by your inhalers? Apparently this is a common side effect. When I mentioned this to the Copd nurse she laughed. I am prescribed Trimbow which I believe is a beta 2 agonist bronchodilator. These cramps are very painful especially in the foot. It

Flying with asthma
Hi all -- Has anyone here done research on flying with asthma? My understanding is that planes are pressurized to about 2 km altitude -- is that correct? Another potential issue is the air humidity -- does anyone know if the air is humidified, or is it only heated? If the air is only heated, the humidity

lupron. seems this drug kills testosterone and is supposed to starve cancer cells.. while radiation kills the cancer.. I was reading. Outsmart your cancer by Tanya Pierce.. The medical argument is that testosterone is the evil thing here but really is a lame argument.. As Dr White has said if this

Managing occasional breathlessness
I got rather breathless on my walk today as it was unexpectedly cold. It happens. Recently I was changed from Ventolin to Salamol. I am fine with that in principle, but I have had mixed results when using it. With Ventolin I know it starts to kick in after 10-15 minutes, but the first time I used Salamol
