Hello Salford49,

As you have POAG, there isnt normally a problem with taking hayfever medication. The concern is when a person has Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma.

We always recommend that you check with your consultant 1st before starting any other medication, whether it prescribed or over the counter ones.

Good advice to consult your GP or consultant, but for what it's worth, I was diagnosed with Glaucoma 12 years ago and use Azopt, Combigan and Lumigan drops daily, I also take cetirizine hydrochloride in the summer for Hayfever and have not experienced any problems. Good luck.

Suggest you avoid anything like nasal sprays which constrict blood vessels and flow as this could have the effect of raising eye pressures.
