Delays with prescriptions

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone experiencing the same.

I see on prescriptions that not meant to order more than 7 days in advance but I ordered my asthma medication 10 days ago on the nhs app, gp approved and sent to Boots chemist and still waiting.

I order early and have to monthly due to the inhalers I take. But it's getting silly. I am on the last few doses left. Worrying when we are not to stop taking them.

Is it just me?

I order about fifteen days in advance on the app now. I have noticed with my medicines that it is relatively easy to order well in advance, so I tend to slightly stockpile as I cannot really trust the pharmacy to not run things really tight.

I had a chat with the pharmacist when first diagnosed and she said order at least two weeks in advance.

Thanks Homely2, I have been diagnosed for too many years to count. Only recently seem to be having problems waiting for the text to say it's done. The text came this morning thankfully.

I will take your advice to order earlier, thank you

This is not asthma related but prescription related... I saw the eye doctor on Monday afternoon. He electronically sent the prescription for eye drops. It took the pharmacy 1.5 hours to notify me that the eye drops were not in stock, but would be in by the next day, in 24 hours. That time came and went. I had to call from work to ask when were the eye drops coming? They arrived late Tuesday evening and had not been checked in yet. My order got filled 5 minutes before they closed on Tuesday, 2 minutes after I called them. 🤷

Treatment delayed until Wednesday morning 😡

O no am very sorry to hear that, hope on the mend now.I had read that there were issues obtaining inhalers of certain types and one of those was one I use.

Fortunately I "only" had a mildly irritated cornea and not pink eye. Had I needed antibiotic eye drops, not steroids on Monday, I would have started calling all the local pharmacies. I have been doing ok with gel lubricant eye drops the doctor wanted me to alternate WITH the steroid drops. I started the steroid drops this morning, when they were finally available. 🙄
