Thyroid medication and St John's Wort
I used to take St John's Wort but I have been treated with an SSRI for 3 years. I am now coming off this and wondering whether to go back to the STW for a bit of support. I have seen comments that St John's Wort should not be taken with Thyroid medication. However on the Thyroid UK website it mentions

Rogaine and hair loss
Has anyone tried Rogaine, (minoxidil), for hair loss? I was diagnosed withPMR/GCA in January and put on 40 mg of pred, now at 18.75, and hair loss seems to have increased the last month or so instead of decreasing. I saw a dermatologist last week who diagnosed “tellogen effluvium “, hair

Caffeine shampoo for Mtx hair loss?
I've just changed from Mtx tabs to injections and the dosage has been upped to 20mg. I'm experiencing slight hair loss at the moment and I don't want it to get any worse. Has anyone tried caffeine shampoo to help with this. I currently use a pro-age shampoo which does help to make my hair look a bit

day out at the Brompton !
Well I have had my lung function test and my echo back at the Brompton this week, followed by a consult with the doc. It seems I could be a prime subject for valves or alternative help with the lungs, seems the worse the lungs are the better they like it, I now have to wait for an appointment for

Hair changes with PMR.
I was just wondering if anyone has experience the nature of their hair changing? I know it can get thin and it falls out when taking prednisone but I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that hair that was straight can go curly. I’ve had straight hair all my life and yearned for a head of curls, that’s natural

Bipolar Androgen Therapy (BAT)
After some time, Androgen Deprivation Therapy stops working and you must escalate to more toxic forms of therapy. It is hypothesized that you can reset your cancer cells to again respond to ADT, by cycling back and forth between ADT and treatment with high levels of testosterone. On it's surface this

Ablation and anticoagulants
Hi All, me again! Just a follow up from my previous posts. As you know I had an ablation for AF last Monday and was prescribed Rivaroxaban to take for six weeks afterwards. As with my previous experience with Apixaban, Rivaroxaban is affecting me in exactly the same way, breathless, dizzy, feeling faint

Cymbalta
I have just been prescribed Cymbalta for pelvic pain/vulvodynia, depression, anxiety which occurs with chronic pain. I am currently taking 20 mg twice a day. I am unable to sleep without the sleep of a sleep aid now and feel tired, groggy and worse overall. I am considering stopping this drug.
