Have I read somewhere that it is best to take
AdCal
separately from Prednisolone - I.e. take after lunch and dinner? I have read so much to try and optimise my health, I can't remember all I have read!! Thank you

Spacing the medication!!!
I'm also on Levothyroxine and it states on the
Adcal
patient sheet that 4 hours should be left after taking the thyroxine before taking the
Adcal
!! So....currently....Levothyroxine, Omeprazole and Vit K2 on waking!! First dose of pred with breakfast.

GP scared me. Help understand results please.
I stopped taking my
Adcal
tablets because I was having side effects from them. I also told her that I have increased my Levothyroxine to 150mcg. Oh dear! She wasn't pleased and told me that I am now at risk of having an angina. Well, that's scared me!

Update on "25 years of Fosamax"
In the mean time I will continue taking '
Adcal
-D3' (Calcium and Vitamin D supplement) and try to keep up my daily attempts at weight bearing exercises, which include 30 minutes of (not so brisk any more!) walking. I will update again after the bone scan and consultation.

Zoledronic acid infusions
I have been on
adcal
for 18 month. Was prescribed Alendronic acid but didn't tolerate it very well. My Rheumatologist said I could stop it. A Nurse spoke to me when I had my scan and gave me a leaflet about the infusions. Came as a bit of a shock.

Stress - sometimes you can't avoid it.
My Rheumy says the aim from 10mg downwards is a very slow reduction of no more than 1mg every two months, symptoms permitting; she has prescribed me
ADCAL
D3; and she has said we will decide on Alendronic Acid once she has the results of my DEXA scan. Wonderful! All was going well.

DXA scan
Having had PMR for 4.5 years and having taken Pred in lowering doses, (together with Alendronic Acid once per week and
ADCAL
twice a day since that time), I spoke to my Rheumy about having a DXA scan, as I had never had one. He organised the scan at my local hospital last week.

I'm new here, but not new to PMR
Taking the usual, AA and
Adcal
-D3 and Ametprozol and my stomach is really tired and upset most of the time. My ESR is in mid 70's and as the Steroids aren't working my Rheumatologist has suggested me reducing the dose from 12mg a day to nothing in approx. 12 ish weeks. Long story, sorry!

Long term Zoladex use
At my last scan I had lost 6% bone density in my lower spine and was put on
adcal
tablets. I'm now 40 and have been on the Zoladex roughly 12 years.

Letter from the hospital
My gp has got prescribe Alendronic acid &
Adcal
D3, so I'm going to wait until I have them before starting. The consultant enclosed the letter referring me back to Opthalmology due to eyesite still being blurry, asking them to check for Ischaemic Optic Neuritis.
