Free Prescriptions for Asthmatics?
Am I the only one who is uncertain as to why asthma isn't an exclusion criterion for prescription charge payment? I guess I shouldn't be complaining just yet as I still fit neatly in the middle of the bracket that says, '16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education', so I don't pay anyway. But when I get

Has anyone had good experience with vit d drops compared to capsules please-a latex allergy is limiting choice of vit d...
Hi, thank you again for your help regarding vitamin d. Discussed my result if 28nmol with doc last week and prescribed adcal. On arriving home realised it had a fruity flavouring, contacted ProStraken and discovered it's not suitable for me, having a latex allergy. I'm researching suitable alternatives

PMR and Vitamin D and/or D3 deficiency
I am new to this site. So glad to have found it. I am interested to know if any sufferers of PMR have been diagnosed, or think they might have, a Vitamin D or more specifically, vitamin D3 deficiency. I was diagnosed with PMR in 2012 and thought I had beaten it in 2014 but have been in a lot of pain

Interpretaion of results and how to improve levels
Please would anyone advise where to go from here, as far as supplements to improve results, and what is missing from the results. I have an underactive thyroid, and after seeing the NHS Endo's registrar and complaining of tiredness and weight gain, she ageed to do further tests. She wrote on the pathology

Puzzled by my readings. Help!
I would be grateful if someone can help me here. Two years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's and have had incremental increases in levothyroxine. However, my T3 was always below range. My reading in August of last year and when I was on 75mcg of thyroxine was: Free T3 3.8 (4.0 - 6.8) Free

IF YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.. BEFORE PD, I WAS A CHEESE BURGER.
from my blog https://diaryofamadparkie.wordpress.com/ It has been said “You are what you eat” and it may be true. New research in mice suggests. upon aging, a high-fat diet significantly accelerated the onset of neurological symptoms in mice that were genetically predisposed to develop Parkinson’s

Vitamin D confusion
Now I am on
ADCAL

D3
(1500mg/400 I.U.) twice a day. The levels of calcium were not tested! Bone profile was tested a few weeks ago and came out as fine. I am to be tested again in a months time. And here are the questions: 1. Why calcium & vit D, not just vit D on its own? 2.

Taken from the Lancet
With all the talk about vitamins on here recently this seems appropriate. The Lancet Home Vitamin D and COPD: who benefits from supplementation? Much attention has been focused on the potential role of vitamin D deficiency on both the development and exacerbations of obstructive lung diseases. Vitamin

Blood tests T3 and free T3
For my next blood test should I ask for T3 and T4, and Free T3 and Free T4? Is there a difference between T3 and Free T3? I will ask for TSH and TPO and TG as well as vitamin D3 and B12, and ferritin and folate. Anything else? I'm recovering from high TSH which led to GP increasing my Levo to 125 mcg

What's causing the headaches
After increasing my Levo to 125 mcg (ftom 50, then 75, then 100 over 6 months) and starting 2 werks ago to supplement daily at 5,000 iu vitamin D3, I felt much improved last week. But I still suffer dull headaches at my forehead. The fatigue is better and I can get through the day without sleeping but

Good afternoon, I am reasonably new to posting on here, or am sporadic, but have another question, if you could advise I would be most grateful. I have been experimenting with varying tests to help make myself better. Using doctors (when I can, but am very disappointed with the service) and other services
