Endo Prescription - advice please
Hi all, I visited an endocrinologist for the first time yesterday with my Dad (72 yrs). I'd really appreciate any feedback from this forum on the prescription he has been given. We went to see an endo privately because we were at a bit of a loss with GP test results which were always just showing

Please help me form a plan of action based on my blood results!
Just got my bloods back and would appreciate any advice what all these could mean and/or how I can myself get well(er) as I am not at all convinced this knowledge will ever come from my clueless but kind GP and NHS Endo. By way of background, thyroid disease runs in my family, and I have had years

When to take medication?
Hello PMR people, an update on my Pred doses - I went up to 10 for just a week then dropped back to 5 but was in pain again so went up to 7 again, I’m staying with it for now as it’s working and I’m not too bad. Will try to reduce in a few weeks. I am so annoyed because I was doing so well on 5 before

Meds help please
I’m on all the normal post bypass meds so those are sorted my questions is I’m on Adcal which is basically calcium for my bones I had cancer 11 years ago and now I don’t produce any testosterone which means I stand a high chance of osteoporosis I haven’t as yet but they give me adcal just in case.

Should I be concerned?
Overall symptoms have not improved so this prompted further blood test on the 14/07 and the following was flagged up. Gp referred me for Liver Scan (hasn’t taken place yet) and wanted to re test in a month. I have added both sets of results below. Have been strictly Gluten Free since June. Have been

Alendronic acid quandary
My doctor has put me on Alendronic acid tablets and 1200 mg calcium supplements(
Adcal
D3
). After the first six days I had constipation and consequent haemorrhoids. I took the alendronic acid and a day later that resulted in headaches, muscle tightness in the legs and arms and fatigue.

Kidney problems
I have recently started Anastrazole and Adcal and Alendronic Acid tablets for bone density. My cancer is progressing and I don't believe the Anastraxole is having any positive effect. I also have a morphine patch for pain relief. In the last week I find that I am not urinating as frequently as usual

vitamin D3 or Vitamin D
My MO told me to begin taking 1000 units of vitamin D. All I can find is D3. Is that what he was referring to? Thanks.

Help on latest test results please
Hi all, Edited to correct 2020 figures - Thank you 😊 This is my first post, may I have some help on my latest blood tests please? All my tests (Medichecks) were done according to the recommended protocol; fasting, no Levo for 24 hours, bloods drawn at 9am. I'm not currently taking any biotin.

I’m pretty new to this group but am very grateful to be part of this forum. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2017 and started sodium risedronate around 2018. I took it until about 4 months ago when my Endocrinologist took me off to put me on Prolia, which she assured me had no contraindications

Hi, I fractured a vertebrae in my spine in September. I’m 66 with no family history of osteoporosis. Besides Hashimotos I also have Sjögren’s. My blood tests last year showed my vitamin D levels were inadequate so at my GP’s request I took vitamin D3. However, after a few months I began to have heart

Cocktail a cause perhaps?
I’ve been on Prednisolone for 2 years this month starting at 15mg steadily going down until January when I stopped at 1mg . It wasn’t long before I had to back up to 5 mg . I am also on weekly Risondodate for bone protection as well as two blood pressure tablets 15mg candesartan and 2.5 mg indapamide

Can we take AD-cal at the same time as Pred?
Greetings one and all. At some time in the last year I read, somewhere (??) that I shouldn't take my Pred at the same time as my Adcal - but I now I can't find where I read it. Has anyone any knowledge on this and, if it is true, what is a reasonable time lapse between the two drugs? Thank you.
