Walking again
I'm now on 5 mg of Prednisone and the
Actemra
for the GCA once a month. I've learned a lot these past few months. There many wonderful people who have supported and cared for me. My husband and a dear friend have been my principal caregivers during this time.

Reduce or not
In addition I was just told I would be funded for

Fractured ankle
As mentioned before, I am also receiving the
Actemra
IV for the GCA monthly. So, I am reducing the Prednisone because the
Actemra
has been helping, and for healing of the fracture. I will not be able to bear weight on this left leg for 4-6 more weeks. Then I will start intensive physical therapy.

Actemra
Has anyone taken
Actemra
infusions? I do not do well with drugs and my Rhumy has suggested it as I don't want to try the Mehotrexate due to all the side effects. She feels
Actemra
is worse on the body though. I don't want either.

Severe headache for past two days
I am supposed to start the
Actemra
IV infusion this Thursday, as I have not been able to go below 40mg of Prednisone since June without a severe flare up. I don't know if this is a flare up or if I have some kind of virus. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Re: discussion on Paddison Program
Just this year I have tried Orencia and
Actemra
. Neither worked for me. Next the Dr. is recommending Rutuxin which is an intravenous medicine taken every 6 months. I am very nervous about this medicine. I have investigated many diet options but am already a vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free.

GCA
Going on 2 years with GCA, on
actemra
to keep me off preds. All my labs are good but still don't feel like I did before GCA. I get worn out doing a load of laundry or trying to run the vacuum. Is that part for everyone?

RoActemra
Hi I'd love to know how others have got on with RoActemra injections - not infusions. I'm beginning RoActemra, just did the second weekly injection. The blurb says it might take 2-12 weeks to feel an improvement. Last week I thought my shoulder got a bit better but by three days after the jab I was

Drug named Tocilizumab or also Actemra
Has anyone had any experience with these drugs.? I have written several times before, and now have a new Rheumatologist in San Francisco who is wonderful She is from Ireland and has actually treated several people before with GCA . I have been on Prednisone for almost a year now, beginning at 80 mg.

Actemra infusion
I am currently in a trial and receiving
Actemra
injections (tocilizamub) once a month. I had my third yesterday. It has brought my numbers down considerably ( from a high of 80 to 8). I have been reducing my prednisone by your methods ( very slowly) and am now on 15 msg.

Hopeful in Canada
I am now 2 weeks post first
Actemra
infusion. Maybe a little relief? Perhaps it's wishful thinking!! Still taking prednisone 15mg & have found Circumin and omega oils a great anti inflammatory benefit.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but not new to RA. I'v been diagnosed 4 years ago and haven't discovered my cure yet. Tried Embrel, Simponi , RoActemra and now my rheumy wants to put me on Rituximab. My question is has it worked for anybody? I'm tired of using such strong medication myself without any
