Actemra

This seems to be worse than when I was on Actemra and I am wondering if it would help to go back on it. Just wondered if any of you on Actemra noticed you felt less fatigued once you started it.

The first time was seven hours after an Actemra injection. The other three episodes were more random. All occuring out of the blue on uneventful days. Do you think the Actemra might be the culprit? Of note, I was on Actemra about eight months before I noticed a break in the headaches.

PMR treated with biologic Actemra in US. Any of you have tried this one? My doctor is inclined in me starting this medication. I was able to stop completely Prednisone, only to begin again three months later. I had normal ESR and CRP for two years. Now it’s elevated again, though not a lot.

We stretched the Actemra shots to fortnightly but they have dropped to 0.4 and doc is concerned.

It’s been 5 weeks since last Actemra and bloods show no increase in inflammation . What do you think about stopping Actemra and going with pred alone? 2. Rheumatologist is OK with putting Actemra on hold and going with pred alone (she loves Actemra).

My doctor wants to start me on Actemra infusions. I am leary of biological. Does anyone have any experience with this treatment. Also is it possible to just stay on 10mg of prednisone long term without major side effects? Thanks for all the help everyone here gives freely.

rheumatologist wants me to put me on Actemra since I’m not tolerating prednisone that well, what has everyone’s experience been?

(I am also on Actemra, which seems to be working well, in my case.) Should I stop the Actemra while I am sick? And just hold steady with the 2 mg. prednisone? Thanks for this amazing resource. xx

Put on 40mg of Prednisolone and since March of this year have been on Actemra once a week.

When I tried to stop before, my symptoms came back within 6 weeks and I started up on Actemra again. That was a year ago so I’m trying again.

I’m currently on Actemra injection once a week after 1 1/2 years. I haven’t had any flares and my assistance will run out. I would like to get off of it entirely if possible. has any one had a experience of getting off it and staying off?

Hi everyone, just wanted to give an update since my last post about having to,pause Actemra after having severe sepsis. Had appointment with rheumatologist this past week.

Started again on 60 mg prednisone and Actemra injections . Right now I’m taking 1.5 mg prednisone and Actemra every other week. I see a great rheumatologist and a neuro ophthalmologist.

Have been on Actemra shot weekly for 16 months now with no flare. Has anyone gotten of Actemra as well as Prednisone with no problems?

I am starting Actemra IV this week- hopefully this will help taper with prednisone. Will let you know. Did not get new Covid vaccine yet, as my hubby had bad reaction for the first time. That scared me, so I decided to wait a bit. 1988jtb USA

I am curious to know how those of you taking Actemra and Prednisone manage events such as theater shows, movies, etc. in light of our immune suppression. I have been very careful over the past months, but am wishing to attend a few Christmas shows. Currently, flu and Covid rates are low in my area.

Then gca was added with infusions of actemra. The prednisone was making me feel better. Nodules in my lungs were growing and in Sept of 23, I had a bronchoscopy and granulomas showed up. So gpa was dx. Now on rituxin, still on 7mg prednisone every day. I can't remember feeling normal.

This has probably been the worst, six months of my seven years with pmr and final recent eye surgery for double vision 7.8 Have spent the last six months deciding on starting Actemra at the urging of my rheumatologist.

Now on Actemra and Pred is down to 2 mgs from 60 mgs. Just wondering if this is due to muscle weakness as I am not in pain and there is no warning before they give way. I walk my dog every day for about 45 minutes without any problems.
