Compromised Immunity: So What Does That Really Mean?
But what about when we are in remission (blood work looking good) and still on
Acalabrutinib
, do we STILL have to take precautions and avoid exposure to potential infectious hazards???

SLL / CLL & Hives
I'm 48 years old, have unmutated "accelerated" SLL diagnosed January 2021, been on BTK (
acalabrutinib
) since then. Periodically I experience awful outbreaks of hives. It started a couple years before diagnosis and still recurs even though disease is controlled. It's happening right now, brutal.

Relapse/Refractory CLL
That maybe I could go back on venetoclax and obinutuzumab (instead of rituximab) or
Acalabrutinib
or Zanubrutinib. At that point, my eyes were fully glazed over. :( I'm just trying to get ready for my appointment this week, in case its time to decide on a treatment option.

Is there anything that helps you with inflamed lymph nodes in the neck and abdomen?
So I decided we cannot wait anymore for the program and went and paid for the first batch of
Acalabrutinib
. However it is not available and it will take 2-3 extra days to arrive. She is in lots of pain and the lymph nodes are tender and painful.

weighing treatment options
Treatment recommendations are either
Acalabrutinib
2x day or Venetoclax+Obinutuzumab.

About to Start Treatment
I am thinking about going for
Acalabrutinib
as no need for hospital stays etc Quite nervous as I tend to over react to medications and other things which is an offshoot of having ME Hope you are all doing well out there

Today's consultation
I asked if it was the
Acalabrutinib
or the CLL which caused lack of immunity. She said a bit of both and to be vigilant.

Starting Acalabrutinib, advice and what to expect?
The doctor prescribed her
Acalabrutinib
, which she will be starting probably in a week, so I wanted to hear about your experience and if you have any advice for making it easier on her. Any specific foods to avoid? Any medicines or supplements that help with the side effects?

WBC 18 to 61.56- how about WBC 22 to 3.6
Many have said their wbc went up when they first started
Acalabrutinib
. Mine did the opposite. I went from 22 to 3.6 in a month and my ANC went to .14. My treatment was stopped till my anc improves. Any comments or similar experiences are appreciated. Thanks

Acalabrutinib and hair loss
I started on
Acalabrutinib
3 weeks ago and one week in my hair started shedding. My Oncologist tells me this is not a recognised side effect, so I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced hair loss on this drug?

anyone not take Paxlovid?
Been on
acalabrutinib
3 years and doing well. Has anyone chosen not to take Paxlovid, especially with mild symptoms? Worry about rebounding with Paxlovid but will take it if it’s advised. Will talk to doctor tomorrow. Appreciate your thoughts. Just wondering if I can do it on my own.

Watch and Wait on Acalabrutinib
My cll specialist advises remaining on
Acalabrutinib
until the disease progresses (ALC and WBC begins to rise rapidly). Hopefully that will be years away.

Cardiotoxicity in patients treated with acalabrutinib
It's a call for careful screening and monitoring, rather than a call for avoiding
acalabrutinib
.

Zanabrutinib
Although I should get somewhere between one and three years in remission, my consultant has already started to talk about Zanabrutinib rather than
Acalabrutinib
. Does anyone have any real-life experience with Zanabrutinib?

Optimal Treatment Combinations in the Management of CLL/SLL Jeff Sharman, MD Provided by Clinical Care Options, LLC
• Long-term data suggest improved survival with
acalabrutinib
+ obinutuzumab compared with
acalabrutinib
alone. • Venetoclax + ibrutinib is a guideline-supported option for some patients.

Bruising
Just wondering if anyone who is on Calquence -
Acalabrutinib
, has had lots of bruises appear? It does say it is one of side affects. I dont mind the odd bruise but have had 2 very big ones appear on my legs, the latest which has quite a solid lump under it and that is what is giving me concern.
