Hives like sores on scalp

I started acalabrutinib in May and only taking one dose per day. A few weeks ago I started with sores on my scalp that itch. I've switched certain products to see if that helps but it doesn't appear to affect it. Could this be my body reacting the meds? Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks

Yes I have had a similar issue when I started with Ibrutinib. I wrote previous posts on this problem. It went away when my consultant lowered the dose ( have been on 140mg instead of 420mg since then) and started taking anti-histamines. After a few months I stopped with the anti-histamines and it has been fine since. So I definitely think your problem is linked to the acalabrutinib you are taking and would advise you to talk asap. to your consultant about this problem., before it gets worse. I hope it will soon be better.

I too have had similar problems on all BTK inhibitors. Thanks for sharing your experience. Tony

I've been on Ibrutinib for 3 years and have scalp dryness and scaling most of that time but not significantly bad. I had very bad itching, redness and scaling on my shins when I went on ibutrinib but I thought it was caused by having received my second Shingrix vaccine. The hematologist didn't know one way or another.

After being on Acalabrutinib for about 5 or 6 months, I have developed something similar to what you have. One area of my scalp itches like crazy regardless of changing shampoos, conditioners, etc. I have mentioned this to my oncologist who didn’t seem too concerned but have yet to get into see a dermatologist. I am on 200mg of Acalabrutinib a day. I guess this is not one of the more serious side effects of the medication but it is certainly annoying and frustrating.

I developed this scaling and itching too this year, and I am just doing FCR 😀. Dollops of moisturizer have knocked it back.

I am in Pitrobrutinib, a non covalent form of a BTK. My scalp is OK but I’ve experienced other dermatological issues that although minor medically, are annoying. I have experienced rashes from exercising and yeast infections. I can easily sort them but like I said, they are annoying.
