UK CLL Forum - updated post lockdown guidance for the management of CLL
For stage B/C patients needing treatment, they suggest consideration of either a clinical trial or the AstraZeneca
acalabrutinib
CLL program for treatment naïve patients (fulfilling eligibility criteria for ELEVATE-TN population). The full details are here but the patient survey is now closed.

Acalabrutinib rash
Just wondering if anyone has experienced a rash while on
Acalabrutinib
? If so What treatments were effective? I developed one in the first weeks which was held at bay by antihistamines at first but recently has caused my hands to swell and form open blisters. It’s very painful.

CLL/SLL Roundtable: Updates on Patient Management (including low dose radiation treatment for early stage SLL)
A notable difference with ELEVATE TN is that this trial did show a benefit with the addition of obinutuzumab to
acalabrutinib
(albeit in a post hoc analysis that was not powered to detect statistical significance). However, in my practice, I generally give
acalabrutinib
as a monotherapy as well.

Changing treatment
Switched to
Acalabrutinib
but disease not controlled. Now taking obenituzimab to lower white blood cell count in preparation for Venetoclax. Has anyone else gone through this?

Acalabrutinib and Cirtus Fruit
The
Acalabrutinib
data sheet states that one should avoid grapefruit and Seville oranges. Does that mean that orange juice from concentrate which may be from the EU, the US or, say, Brazil, is OK and that fresh oranges from the Mediterranean area, including Spain, is OK or not?

Starting Acalabrutinib
Due to start
Acalabrutinib
on Friday. Has anyone any advice as to whether to take it with food or away from food? Also, there are other drugs that I'm supposed to take too - Aciclovir, Allopurinol, Co-TrimOxazole.

CLL and hepatitis B?
I had some high hopes for
acalabrutinib
with venetoclax one day when I need therapy; now I'm not sure anymore (both these drugs are not available in Japan where I currently live; my hematologist just does not know the answer).

Three-drug GIV combo promising against high-risk CLL - Patients with deletion 17p or TP53 (from EHA Congress)
He pointed out that second-generation Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors such as
acalabrutinib
(Calquence) may pose a lower risk of atrial fibrillation than the BTK inhibitor ibrutinib used in the CLL2-GIVe study. In general, however, the rationale for the combination is sound, Dr.

Acalabrutinib treatment yes or no
So my haematologist has been able to get me access to
Acalabrutinib
. I’m excited about this. But also a little uncertain. I’d like some wider advice from you all. Particularly if you are having this treatment yourself. I am 13q deleted. Gone from 87kg to 74kg. WBC from 77000 to 198000.

Unmutated patients on venetoclax?
As an unmutated patient who decided to go with venetoclax over
acalabrutinib
I wonder about the unmutated factor. Don't unmutated patients do equally well on the BTK inhibitors?

B-PLL: Ibrutrinib Monotherapy or Obinutuzumab (aka Gazyva) & Venetoclax Combination as first-line treatment for transformed CLL
We have two CLL experts who propose different treatment plans for first-line therapy: 1) Monotherapy Ibrutinib or
Acalabrutinib
2) Combination therapy Gazyva and Venetoclax We know that treatment 2 is fixed in duration and holds promise for disease clearance for an indeterminate period of time but

Leukaemia Care Webinar 8th April - a bit more information
That might be chlorambucil or, as AdrianUK mentioned yesterday, there is a patient access scheme for
Acalabrutinib
which is a good alternative for many patients.
