cramping
I’ve been on
acalabrutinib
for about two weeks and on Imbruvica for approximately 6 months before that. In the past couple of weeks I have been having cramping in my legs, feet and back. This evening the muscles in my stomach cramped.

Ventoclax&Obinutuzumab or Zanibrutinib&Acalabrutinib
51 years old have been on watch and wait three years. Only reasons to start treatment now seem to be hemoglobin around 10 and after bone marrow recently done I believe about 70% CLL found. Unmutated. Good health outside of cll. My two questions are first what are the chances of serious side effects

muscle and joint pain
Is muscle and joint pain after a month of starting
acalabrutinib
the cause of the
acalabrutinib
side effect or is it still the result of your body getting rid of white blood calls and causing higher uric acid causing gout in your muscles and joints?

Calquence & Mole Removal ?
One doctor said I don't have to stop Calquence (
acalabrutinib
) for this and another said I have to stop for FIVE DAYS pre- and post-procedure. The latter seems excessive. I once stopped for 7 days pre and post major surgery (removal of ovary and fallopian tubes) but this mole removal is minor.

Best Treatment for CLL
Is Zanubrutinib a better treatment than
Acalabrutinib
for CLL because it is the newest approved version for BTK drugs.

Reaction to Venetoclax?
He was on W&W until he started
Acalabrutinib
in January 2022. His WBC went down almost immediately. All was well until it wasn't.

Relapsed CLL: New Approaches Prolong Survival
Glück added that "
acalabrutinib

Acalabrutinib and headaches
I started taking
acalabrutinib
in December last year. All went well for the first couple of weeks. However for the last 6 weeks I have been getting severe headaches from very early in the morning - usually around 1am - which can last for more than 6 hours. Pain relief doesn’t do any good at all.

1.5 million atrial fibrillation cases may be undiagnosed in US (prevalence estimate of 11%)
While that risk is lower with the second generation approved drugs
acalabrutinib
and zanubrutinib, it's still higher than if you were not taking the drug.

One and Done?? Next up!
Quickly, I was started prematurely on
acalabrutinib
in Oct 2022 by a Dr in North Carolina where we spend our summers. Would never of happened if I hadn't gotten Covid in July.

Iron Levels with CLL
I also started taking
acalabrutinib
in May. I see a local doctor who didn't seem too concerned and I also see a doc in Cincinnati that says low iron is not normal with CLL/
acalabrutinib
, so he wants me to have an upper GI and colonoscopy. My last colonoscopy was in 2017 and they found no issues.

The Bottom Line: In this ongoing trial, the triple combination therapy using
acalabrutinib

One Year Anniversary on Acalabrutinib (Calquence)
I have reached my one year anniversary being on
Acalabrutinib
!…..how quickly that year has gone 😅. I’m so happy to report that my most recent bloodwork taken a few weeks ago showed that all of my hematology and chemistry counts were within normal limits…..first time in many years!! 👏👏.

Prophylactics
Hi I have been on
Acalabrutinib
for two weeks now along with prophylactics, one being Co trimoxazole , which I seemed to react to. I have now been offered Pentamidine, which I have read up on and don’t like the sound of plus it does not sound as if it protects as well.
