December Yoga / Pilates Mat

December will be busy on S&F, probably off the mat as well. Certainly in our household, it’s all about sneaking around various places, finding and crafting presents for family and friends. We also have a handful birthdays following the Xmas period, so the hunt after the nicest, most useful and most joyful presents is on. Joyful, but also a bit frantic.

So to keep a bit of calm, a spot of focussed yoga or Pilates might just be the thing we need.

And just head the Community tab to find her weekly planner with lists of workouts. The workouts will be in the playlists marked for the week and month.

So feel free to reply to this post when you do one of these workouts. We’d love to hear how you found it.

If you are just joining us, big WELCOME to you and any new Virtual Workout Buddies! A short daily practice of Yoga or Mat Pilates is perfect to get some S&F into your day. And feel free to - as Adriene says - “find what feels good”, meaning if your knees feel too sensitive, amend that Child’s Pose. And if you find full planks are the stuff of nightmares, rather do half planks than full ones. Do whatever feels right to get the maximum enjoyment from these daily sessions. And definitely get creative with props.

Upwards, crow-wards and down dog-wards another months practice!

I like both of these ladies and have done the yoga with Adrienne since before lockdown and some of the pilates in the last year. I'd like to get more organised with my exercise in particular; I have at least three folders in my favourites of fitness/yoga/pilates/running/back pain exercises and tend to get lost working out what to do. I think I need some sort of system or plan so that I actually do more of them!

Yeah, I think the YWA calendar with daily workouts worked for me quite well, for what must have been a streak of unbroken daily yoga for 1 1/2 years. I started other S&F exercises at that time, so still pop into the calendar, but do not do it daily anymore.

But just to mention that of course the new January Yoga journey is coming up, and there are always a few of us, including myself, doing the daily yoga in that month.

I did Adrienne's January yoga a while back - maybe just before lockdown? And that was the only time I did yoga every day for a month.

What I'd like to do is a mix of yoga/pilates/exercise around walking/running plus meditation too.

So, not asking much of myself ... 🤣
