I have a favourite kind of weekend. And this weekend came really close to it. It featured:
- a Saturday slow morning trail run
- a Sunday afternoon family boardgame
- a Sunday early evening indoor row through the Zwift’s Virtual Scottish Highlands with an appearance of Nessie and Northern lights, and listening to a Scottish Coach whilst rowing
- and to top it all, arrival of my Row31 medal from having rowed the British Rowing 31 day challenge in January!
Only things missing was some yoga and some walking. But I’m still working on that time-stretching gadget that would help with that! 🤣🤣
How workout-y was your weekend?

That sounds like a super weekend! It’s been a nice but busy one here. On Friday, I did an interval speed run. Super hard! My legs were feeling a bit battered on Saturday but my husband was keen to run. We went out on the condition that it was firmly a gently jog. That was a lovely 5k! We had a decent walk in the evening for a local carnival parade when we ended up parking ended up miles away. This morning, the legs were complaining a bit so it was a nice stretchy session in front of the TV. Just some of my favourite moves to sort out the muscles. It definitely helped.
Congratulations on your rowing medal. That’s very well earned! Do you have a special way to store your medals? I’be got three now (a 10k, a HM and one from a charity I fundraised for for the HM). I feel like they deserve better than cluttering up the dressing table!
That Sunday sounds deliciously relaxing (and stretching) after 2 days of great running!
I have not yet found a great spot for my medals but they’re hanging at the moment in the stairwell on a coat hanger we are not using.
It’s ok, but a bit out of the way and in a dark corner.
So I’m also pondering about it.
I’m not sure I’d prefer the traditional hooks and I’m wondering about just getting a large enough glass jar and piling them carefully in. And then it become something to put on a bookshelf like a vase of flowers.
Not sure though.
I like those coffee tables with glass on top looking into flat drawers underneath and always thought that as a perfect way to store medals. But we don’t have one of those.
Managed an arm workout (part of a 7min group of a programme of arm workouts - "Wings on Fire" in the 7M app - always good, short and my arms are a little less skinny than 4 weeks ago!) and a 10km walk on Saturday, but ended up doing virtually nothing (only stretching) on Sunday, as I needed a rest day, and also need to organise my week better!
Still - it was relaxing!

Fabulous! And welcome (again) to the forum. Woohoo!!!
(Ladies & Gentlemen, may I introduce my hubby RichGMcC ….. unless it’s not my hubby, in which case this would be very embarrassing 🙈)
Rich is using both FitOn and the 7-min app for his S&F needs, so it would be great hearing about your progress with those apps! Maybe even a quick review! 😍🤩🤩🤩
Congratulations on your medal it's lovely when a bit of bling arrives as reward for all that hard work. I did a 50 minute Pilates session, I had 2 new classes to choose from, one involved using the Pilates ball the other was titled Planktastic!! I opted for the first and it had a really interesting mix of moves. Besides that I also did YWA both days and meet a friend for a long walk. But I failed to go out running 😡 I just couldn't get the enthusiasm on Sunday.
So this morning I have to thank you for this post and ChannelRunner2 for YouTube clip. I woke up early and lay in bed watching it and was inspired to get up. I didn't join in with that one but did a YWA quick morning routine. Then went for a 5k run followed by today's YWA Align session. After lunch it's 90 minutes of my live yoga class 💪😊👍
