Just wanted to drop a last S&F catchup of the year, but I’m also aware that many will be travelling and utterly busy between the years.
I know we have had a busy time on this forum, with YWA Yoga and Resistmas keeping us active. But for those who didn’t participate in those particular activities, this catchup might also provide the opportunity to check back in.
How have you been? Any plans for next year? Is everyone ok? Do you need any ideas for getting you started next year? Or do you have any ideas for getting us here on the S&F community excited to do the next little or big challenge?
From past years, I still remember various plankathons, the Tai Chi week, the 30-day Pilates challenge, and plenty more. So any ideas, let us know. (All multi-day journeys can be found in healthunlocked.com/strength... )
Next year we will, of course, start the year with YWA January Yoga Journey. And we will resume with the regular catch-ups as well.
See you on our collective mat in 2023!

And for those who are new, our key standard links of all things S&F are provided below:
Since I am not going anywhere, I thought I'd chime in! I very much enjoyed Resistmas and am looking forward to the YWA January Yoga Journey. And I couldn't help it, I also signed up for a Pilates Journey with one of my favorite online teachers (see trifectapilates.com/align ).
While not directly related to strength & flexibility, though very much impacting it, my biggest challenge for 2023 will be to sleep well again. Somehow my body seems to refuse to rest sometimes - not sure why, so I've started to approach that with curiosity (also as one way to reduce my anxiety around the insomnia, which, of course, was making it worse...).
That Pilates is looking good! So let us know how it goes!
Sleep is so important, so when it’s disrupted it can be debilitating. So hope you find a good remedy. There are some bedtime yoga sessions I used to do which did get me into a calm mode. But then I seldom have any issues with falling asleep.
Trifecta Pilates offers a lot of challenges, so there's like to be one again, though I am not sure if it would start in February... March is March Matness - doing the 34 Mat Pilates exercises. I am still looking for a way to share it here! (Like videos with oodles of variations...)
I've signed up for January's YWA and Ion really looking forward to it.I REALLY need to get back into the S&F habit in 2023
Through December I only managed two yoga classes, one Pilates and no physio exercises so it was a good job I had the Resistance Band Advent Challenge to get me do something 😂
I've done most of the Breathe YWA yoga calendar in December, although I caught Covid on the 22nd December and still testing positive and feeling awful.
I plan to work through January's YWA calendar as I want to keep going consistently with the yoga.
Hoping you feel better soon, buzzards ! And I wish you a full and speedy recovery!!!
I saw a Pilates class specifically for Covid recovery... I found the info: It'll be taught by Darien Gold who had Long Covid, costs $120, and will take place on Wednesdays at 18:00 UTC (do check that, though! I am notoriously bad with time zones...). More info is here: dariengold.com/pages/long_c...
(I don't know Darien Gold! I just listen to her podcast, which I can recommend 😊)
Thanks, this looks interesting. I'll check out the podcast.

Join us when you can. We’ll be there. And make sure you have patience with your recovery. It takes a while. But I’m sure there will be easy centering practices. Sending you speedy recovery!
Last hours to check in with all of us on the 2022-collective-virtual-mat. We’re rolling it up, as we speak! 😉 Get ready for the spiffy new 2023 collective mat!
