Iβve decided I love this January journey the best of all YWA journeys that Iβve done, although I have to admit Iβve done only 2 including this one! π€£ But itβs great, isnβt it? (Although, I just have to say it, I donβt love the new calendar design, with confusing 6 days in a row! Itβs confusing enough that day 1 is 2nd of January, so to throw in this added complication is almost too much for me π€ͺπ΅βπ«π)
But wow! So well done to all who have made it so far and a special huge extra well done who have managed to keep up the daily practice, daily, and on the right day without getting confused by rows and numbers!
Iβm a row behind, but wow has this one been a great 30 days. From where I can see, I felt this one is a bit special. As others have pointed out, there were only sessions less then 30 minutes. Additionally there were quite a few more Pilates-like movements with repetitions (do clams exist in the classic yoga-verse?), and this I personally enjoyed. And there were some slight or not so slight alterations to poses or transitions which kept the whole 30 days fresh, a sort of reimagining old favourites in new ways.
Fabulous stuff and in the future I might draw on this series more than I draw from others.
So, letβs do these last few days of Yoga sessions!
As usual:
Onwards and upwards with YWAβs MOVE and feel free to share your joys and struggles by reply!
I could say "snap" πDid Breath then virtually stopped YWA but I was determined to do Move to give me a focus on January.
I've enjoyed it so much more than Breath.

BREATH will always be special in my heart as it was the first YWA January journey that got me into doing a daily practice. But MOVE in some ways focusses even more on a breath-focussed practice. And itβs more Pilates-y and mindful, I find, in a good way.
I had to stop and let my cat out of the room halfway through π

Yes, I managed the premieres only twice, but once it didnβt load and then jumped ahead, and another time it went alright.
But the biggest challenging thing for me was the late time it drops in the morning. I have now successfully moved my practice to the morning again, around 7am, so I need to be at least one day late to not have to wait until 10am.
Day 25 - another fun one, and yay pigeon! I daren't try reaching back to hold my foot in pigeon sadly, I almost always get hamstring cramp when I try stuff like that... π€

I just celebrated that leaning forward in pigeon and now she is leaning back! π³π€£
Day 27 .. rush to get home to catch the 10am premier after a trip to the shop, only to get interrupted after 10 minutes by the door bell. It was neighbour who can talk for Britain π Adriene was finishing by the time I got back to the mat! So start again .... Oh dear it was a tough one all that knee to elbow... phew need to lie down now π₯΅
I've decided next month to mix Pilates and Yoga do one or the other daily, well that's the plan anywayπ I might revisit the Move sessions for the yoga portion

Yes, hubby and I also already committed to doing a Pilates 30 day journey in the summer, as my favourite one always drops at the same time as YWA.
Loved that glute/bum massage move! Great! Finished with day 29, now on to day 30 on Tuesday. (Will do the new on for Feb when it drops tomorrow/ Monday)
Last Day ! I've really enjoyed Move much more than last years(which was the first YWA January daily practice I'd done) and will definitely go back to it. Its provided me with a great focus during January.

Day 30 - I'm not keen on doing my own thing wrt yoga so I followed along as much as I could. Husband went out for a swim so I got to watch the video on the TV for a change, and it was... a bit weird π
I have really enjoyed this month of yoga! π
Adriene on the big screen, and Noodles the cat observing

Awwwhhh, you and the cat both seem to have enjoyed it! Woohoo! πππ½π§πΌββοΈ
Really pleased that I have managed to keep this up for a whole month. I can really see the difference in my strength and flexibility - there's still plenty of room for improvement though. It's helped my running and I've found it relaxing too. What a great plan! The challenge now is to keep it up π
Oh well done! Woohhooo! Yes, the monthly calendars are a great way to keep a daily practice up. As with running, keep on keeping on. πππ½πππͺπ§πΌββοΈπππΌββοΈπΎ
Day 25 - did this yesterday, and that quick fist breathing at the beginning certainly was something new for me! Liked that!
Day 26 - π€ huh! Some new moves! π Horizon π³ and Hummingbird π.
Loved Hummingbird as Iβm strengthening my toes at the moment. Horizon is still a bit too far on the Horizon for me, my lunges are just not deep enough and knees start hurting if I go deeper. Iβll get there.
Day 27: phew, yeah, I wasnβt quite strong enough to do the full planks, I fear. My leg in one legged down dog also rather points in the diagonal direction, rather than touch the opposite elbow. Hey ho.
But we got through it. Hubby suggested it was the hardest one weβve done and is the equivalent to his strength workouts! And thatβs saying a lot!
So woohoo π π to all who got through this one!
