Day 7 - 12: here we go! Is it just me or is it getting hot on our yoga mat? The flows seem to be getting faster!
Also, as you might have noticed, I’m smoothing out any last technical kinks in the yoga posts here: I noticed only quite late that the calendar didn’t have “weeks” but rather 6 day rows! 😂😂😂 Threw me for a bit!
Also, I learned that if you’re in the UK and manage to schedule in a 10am practice, you get to have a kind of live experience, as it’s live broadcast at that time with many connecting simultaneously. The live chat rolls by, which is really motivating. The sessions are not live, as she recorded them end of last year, but there is a genuine feeling of being connected with thousands of others practicing at the same time!
I really loved FLOW , which was day 4 from the first row. It really was the first time I achieved for my breath to really drive everything else, and from the comments, quite a few others felt that as well! It really stood out! So if you haven’t tried any of the Yoga practices, I think that one is a beauty!
My metatarsals are holding up, but I’m still taking it very easy on them and am avoiding any undue pressure on the balls or toes of my right foot. My experience is that if I don’t pay attention to that, over the day it gets worse. But this is such a good example of how Yoga can be adapted within a home practice without the peer pressure of a gym group! I replace down dogs with all-fours. Planks with half-planks. And only some moves into other positions are awkward, such as down dog to mountain pose, which in my case means moving from all fours awkwardly into mountain pose.
But just as always with YWA: Find what feels good!
So onwards and upwards with YWA’s MOVE and feel free to share your joys and struggles by reply!
One tip someone suggested which I keep forgetting to do is to check the number of views before and after you start your practice - the difference between those numbers is all the people who were doing it with you.
I'm loving these workouts even though I have to adapt and replace downward dogs with all-fours and planks with half planks after injuring myself earlier this week. Day 6 focused a lot on working the legs to strengthen the core muscles and I will repeat this session regularly once I've healed up.

Me too! And I do the same swaps! (Metatarsal issue)
Ok I finally understand the idea of doing it "live" and seeing from your picture the togetherness that it gives. Now I've just got to get to me mat in time 😂
🤣🤣 Yeah, and we play the YouTube video from a browser on the TV screen without being able to set font size. So when in live chat mode, our mats are too far away to be able to read it, and the main video is also annoyingly small. But when full sizing the video window, the chat is not visible. So I’ve reverted to reading just in the minutes before start and browsing through at the end.
I usually just look at the comments while waiting for the video to start (there's a countdown) - I peeked at them today for the first time during the actual practice! I was curious to see if anyone was commenting instead of doing their yoga 😂 Normally I close the comment window cos I play the videos on my phone so would have no chance of being able to read them! dijep ❤️

And… 🤣 .. did you get the impression that done were just sitting back and commenting? 🤣🤣🤣
I realised from doing Zwift that many people now use Siri and voice dictation to chat, so they just press one button, say something, and press send. But I usually have Siri completely off and I think dictating text messages is too advanced for me! 🤣🤣🤪😵💫🤯🤣
Thanks CC. I think I'll probably just let it drift by a day if it gets too much to fit in at night. Life should be back to normal before the end of Jan so hopefully I'll be able to at least finish with everyone else 😀
Day 7 ✅ Loved this session. I'm finding the whole experience so much easier to follow than last years not really sure why. But it's all goodThis was the view of Alfie my greyhound as I came down from my yoga. He can never join me on the mat as he doesn't do stairs. But he's excellent at certain postures 🤣
Yes it was nice chilled end to the week after all that core muscles work. I had to swap lying on my back with child's pose as my chest is still painful. Looking forward to this week.

Yes, after spotting @roseabi ‘s comments we decided to do day 8 just before bed, and it didn’t disappoint as a bedtime practice! Snnnnoooooozzzyy! 😴💤🛌🥱 Slept great!
Day 9 - enjoyed this one! It was like a gentle workout with lots of repetitive movements, and I LOVE tree pose 😊😊😊 I managed to stay upright with my eyes closed for quite some seconds on my right leg, go me!

I’m a little behind but just finished day 7, I am enjoying this series much more and it is easier to schedule less than half an hour out of the day too, I woke up at six am and was pretty much straight on the mat
Nice! I’m all over the place with timings at the moment, but just about keeping it up. 6am is very impressive in my book. Of course I’ve got the excuse to not be able to do that as it only drops at 10am! 🤣🤣
Ahh, I just asked that question. So each new day is only available after 10? That's a shame ...

Shame? Or an excuse? 🤣🤣 I enviously remember the time where I got up at 6:30 to fit my Yoga in before work. Now… I know I am still physically able to still do Yoga in the evening, so I seem to not be the eager beaver anymore! 🤣🤣
Day 8 was so lovely. I wasn't having a good day yesterday so I was so pleased it was so gentle. After over 9.5 hours sleep last night I'm been feeling much better so Day 9 was great. In fact I followed it's with 40 minutes Pilates.
That's half kneeling triangle was weird and definitely new to me too. But I absolutely love fish pose although I had totally forgotten that was it's name 😂
Adapting the moves to your own limits is essential CBDB. Adriene moves so fast. Like last time, I’m taking a bit longer to get my foot forward from downward facing dog to my hands, but hope that I will improve as I go along. I’m also doing a mixture of full planks and half planks. I haven’t been able to do it every day but I am doing every one so I will take longer than a month. I did one session after another yesterday - that was tough! I’m also trying tai chi at my gym next week so it’s all go!
Wow! Indeed all go! I’m also now 2 days behind to a very intensive and rocky start back to work this week! And yes, she does move fast this time, doesn’t she?
I'm finding it easier to follow than last time, but I wonder if it's partly that I'm more used to just listening rather than trying to watch and do. Also she seems to give more alternatives when she doing the more challenging postures. Or is that just me forgetting last January's sessions?
I'm only on day 7 as I've had a few days away and got a few more coming up. I can't decide whether to skip a few sessions so I keep up to date with everyone, or go at my own pace and take 5 -6 weeks to complete the programme. I guess the main thing is to keep going!!
I’m there with you. After a rocky return to an ultra busy work week, I’m three days behind. But thats ok. That’s the beauty of this home practice, it really adapts to our needs. 💪👏🙏
I’m really enjoying Move. It’s fairly full on and yes she is moving faster than usual, but I like the challenge. I had a very on/off few weeks of yoga at the end of last year, but was able to finish Balance in December and roll straight into Move. 😀
I subscribe to her FWFG app which has some fun content, and the daily videos are available the previous evening, but I do it because I like supporting her. This is my fourth year of Adriene and I think this is my favourite 30 dayer. Her cues are very consistent, so much so I barely look at the screen nowadays! What I have learned is that I can’t do trees in PJs. So slippery!! It’s so cool that so many HUers are on board. 🥰
I am way behind just finished day 9, which was nice. The swinging arms in standing pose, bending forwards, arms swinging through to back was a new one, and nice.
I did this session after 50min of rowing, after a full-on day at work, so I didn’t enjoy this session as much as I would have if not exhausted or of freshly showered in the morning . So I’m thinking I need to change the time of my practice.
Doing these after rowing is just too much. But hubby nowadays also hogs the living room for online meetings in the evening (he’s now also a parish councillor), so I cannot simply turn up and do yoga (without an audience). Hm 🤔 a bit of a conundrum.
I might just have to bite the bullet and start getting up again at 6am, rather than 7 as I do now.
Day 11: now this was a lovely one wasn’t it. Loved the hand-as-book-opening-and-twirling-inside-out-one! Nice! Also some moves with breaths! Great stuff.
Day 12 in the bag! Also a nice one! I’m echoing what others have said, but there are some really nice sessions in Move. The linking up with breathing, some of the more Pilates moves, and then some small differences to know positions and moves make it really interesting!
