Well today was the day to take our yoga outside! After debating how best to do this (See post from a month ago: healthunlocked.com/strength... ) I finally got all my ducks in a row and took every I needed, including hubby, outside. My ducks:
- Weather? ✔️
- Wifi Booster repositioned, tested and placed? ✔️
- Outside Yoga bag identified and packed? ✔️
- Wonky Sun umbrella positioned for shadowed iPhone? ✔️
- iPhone charged fully (important) ✔️
- hubby✔️
Yesss! Taken it outssiiiide!!!!✔️
We did a lovely 32 min YWA practice ( Root to Rise) and it was great doing outside. What differed?
- there are more distractions (“do you hear those birds“, “look at those flowers“, “sun is tickling me”, in addition to the usual “I can’t do this move because of my x”)
- the shadow on iPhone playing YouTube is important
- there were lovely moments in enjoying the sun on your face when rooting to rise and lifting your chest
- I would be more self conscious if the garden wasn’t as secluded
- mat on blanket on grass worked well and I didn’t need padding for knees as the ground was so soft. But it did make balancing on one leg more difficult
Beautiful! I can recommend taking it outside!
Happy working out everyone!

Thanks for the woohoo’s, they definitely helped! 🙏🏻 The weather was touch and go - we were lucky during the run as there was a cooling drizzle, but afterwards it began to rain during our picnic. Never mind, it didn’t spoil the day. It’s been too long since we ran together, so hopefully that event will help things open back up again. 🤞🤞
Oh well done on getting outdoors! Fantastic effort and I’m more than a little jealous. Your photo of a beautiful sunny scene could not be more removed from my soggy, water-logged lawn caused by the continuous rain 🌧 and the thunderstorms ⛈ we are rumoured to be expecting shortly!!!! What has happened to the weather??? I’m delighted to see by your photos though, that there is at least one place in the UK managing to see the sunshine ⛅️ ☀️.
Doing yoga outdoors is a real treat and I have usually managed it myself by this time of the year, but as April seems to have saved its showers for May, and the frosty mornings are still a recent memory, I have unsurprisingly yet to venture into my garden with Adriene for an outdoor yoga session.
You mentioned getting your ducks in a row CBDB. All very organised, but in my garden it is so wet I’m just waiting for the real ducks to move in 🦆 🦆 🦆 💧 💦 🙄☔️. Xx
Yes, we’ve somehow been lucky. My app told me rain every day all day, but we had sunny mornings every day, including today.
So only metaphorical ducks in our garden in the mornings, but now it’s looking like rain any moment. So send those ducks over to me, and that nice weather will arrive with you soon, I’m sure! 😂🦆☀️🌤☀️🧘🏼♂️
