30 days of yoga with Adriene - your experience?

Hi, I’m here via C25K forum. came across your recommendations for 30 day yoga with Adriene. Just done the first 2 days, can already feel why people get so into it 😊 I’ve tried for years to get a regular yoga practice embedded, no success. I think this might change that! Thanks to all of you who recommended it. How are you getting in with it as you get further in?

Well done you.... I am also a big fan of yoga too...and I am finding that the more I do,the stretchier I am becoming. Enjoy the yoga, and the benefits it brings 🙏

I'm really enjoying it. This is my third lot ofAdriene's 30 day series, back to back. I too am hoping to keep it going as a habit. Maybe we can all keep each other going 🙂

Yes, great to share the encouragement linda9389. I see there’s more than 1 set of 30 days yoga with Adriene so I’ll be padding steadily through all of them - repeatedly! I like your idea of doing them as a sequence, thanks. Enjoy tomorrow’s practice 👏

I’ve been following it every day, I am so hooked! It keeps you motivated because every day the sequence is different, some days are just easy easy and relaxing, other days it’s challenging. I did a race yesterday so missed the yoga session but I’ll be catching up and doing 2 early this morning

Good to see you over here from C25K JaoJao 😊! Glad all’s good with you. This whole thing has amazed me. A year ago, I couldn’t run for 5 minutes. Now I run 3 times a week, just did my 4th Parkrun and am at day 4 of yoga with Adriene. Family think I’ve been replaced by a (healthier) alien 😂😂....happy yoga and running to you.

Ahh so sweet Jeri, I’m glad your journey has gone well! Same as me pretty much, three runs a week and now taking strengthening seriously! YWA has made a massive difference last few weeks I highly recommend it.

Did you do bridge to 10K, are you doing anything else? x

Hi, at the minute I’m doing YWA (today’s day 4) + local Parkrun most Saturdays + 2 other runs most weeks. For those two runs, I’ve just started this week using the C25K+ podcast “speed”.....intervals of 1 minute at 150 bpm then 1 minute at 166 bpm. Very good. It’s just right amount of stretch for me from C25K. Rather than moving onto 10K, I feel I want to embed current runs plus yoga for now. Oh, and I’m starting to choose really simple healthy food – with no effort. Honestly, this whole thing is a complete miracle 😂! Has it affected other aspects of your choices e.g. food?

You speed sessions sound great and understand about embedding your current achievements. I consolidated 5K for 3 months before moving onto 10K but i don’t do any speed or intervals work, maybe on the future I will tackle that.

Yes! The food! OMG! I am eating bananas, porridge, peanut butter, drinking milk, nuts without thinking twice! One of my posts is a list of run friendly foods and I basically pick things off that list for snack and meal plans... most days I eat well but I’m not rigid about it 🙂

Doing this YWA has really helped my running performances lately, my run times are speedier and I feel stronger and toned in my body. The 30 days will be coming to an end soon and I want to take strengthening further now I’m completely brought into it.

Just graduated for the second time. Was on the IC for a year. Just started Consolidation runs but am now on day 18 with Adriene. Have noticed when driving that I have new core muscles working 😂 I love it and aim to keep it up with her other plans.

My body feels tired today so I'm going to run tomorrow. I've found if I run every other day I just get too tired. I'm quite an active person. It's because of this that I wonder if I'm eating the right foods. I eat porridge, fruit.nuts veg and a reasonably healthy diet but I just wonder if I'm missing something out that would give me more energy?

It’s nearly over! With just 5 days to go... what are people planning on doing next? Waiting for February’s calendar release or a mix and match of your own from her library?

I’ve just found YWA, so started where I found the first one, which was in her 2015 series. On day 10 of that series today then plan to work my way forward slowly through each of her 30 day series, so loads still to discover 😁....what a treasure trove. What are you thinking of doing next yourself? (Let us know what you reckons if you do check out the C25K intervals / speed thing)

I’m going to check out YWA February plan when it’s released. I also want to have a go at incorporating her longer runners sessions into my week. Especially, warm up, cool down, sore legs and stamina sessions! Yes, a massive treasure trove.
