Just one thing - July week 3

I hope everyone is having a great time with their exercise. It’s that time of the week again to think about the things we could be doing to help ourselves but we don’t do... maybe we don’t like the exercise or maybe we just forget about it.

Here we pledge to do that one thing this week, and who knows, we may just enjoy it and keep it in our weekly routine.

Have a great week everyone.

I swam twice last week, and found it pretty hard going as I haven’t swam like that since I was about 13... I will try to keep going once a week.

This week, I’m going to take on the dreaded burpee... I avoid pretty much every workout that has them in (don’t think I’m alone there) so this week I will only do workouts that include them.

It is amazing how much more tough it is when you haven't swam for long time!

Yeah... I do get in pools from time to time, but not really for exercise. It was familiar and easy for a couple of lengths and then it was a battle for the rest of the half hour. It will improve I’m sure!

Well done on your swimming, mine has dropped off a bit, I eventually am going to add it back in I think, it is really good for running muscles.

Thanks. I really felt in in the shoulders the days after but didn’t affect the run and soon loosened up.

That is why I would like to add it back in. Did you know triathletes have a lot less injuries and strains than runners, mainly because the different disciplines protect the muscles by stretching them in different ways. I had the least body aches training for a sprint Tri. I just wished I loved cycling. 😀.

I’d heard something about it. Can’t see myself ever wanting to do the triathlon, but I can add the other two into my training a little.

Hi all,

I did at least go to Pilates this evening. I really didn't want to when I left work, the couch was calling as it has the last few days. Can't put my finger on why but the insomnia is back as well. Bit of a chicken and egg situation. Am I feeling off because I'm not sleeping or not sleeping because there's some worry rattling around in my head that I haven't yet identified? 🤷‍♀️

Sorry I disgress.

Forced myself to Pilates, turned out only 2 of us in the class tonight. Had a great time :) back is all limbered up and my leg raises are improving 👐👐👐

Really pleased I went and got some happy hormones for a while.

My one thing fir this week? Wednesday evening I'm going to try my new online exercise class 💃💃💃

Hope you are all having a good week x

Good job with the Pilates... I’m feeling the call of the couch (and the bed) in this heat, for the first time in a long time I’m having to drag my butt out to get active.

Enjoy that exercise class... is it a real time one?

I know, the heat has been such a pain. But good on you too for resisting the urge 🛋🛏 My Saturday long run got postponed until today as it was too hot this past weekend.

The online class is not live which is good as I can just fit it in when I get home.

I am going mad. I am sure I did a whole long post in reply yesterday and it has gone ☹️. Ok I will try again.

My just one thing is going well (sort of)

Last week I did

One session squats✔️

One session planks✔️

3x10 min Pilates videos✔️.

This week I want to do the same but I need to wiggle my routine around a bit as I feel I am not actively recovering and it seems to of happened since I changed a swim session for a gym session. I am Constantly walking around on sore legs so I am swapping a gym for a swim and see if that makes a difference. That means two Pilates sessions will have to be done at home but I am going to dedicate a whole exercise day to them as a move everyday rest day, so they will be Pilates stretch ones.

Have a good week everyone.

Well done. Here’s hoping the switch of sessions has you back to normal. I’m not sure it’s heat related, but I feel recovered quicker than I actually am and have been for a couple of weeks now.
