I have a yoga mat to do some yoga exercises like planks, sit ups, push ups, I also have a pair of 5 Kilogram kettlebells, I suppose I could buy a stationery bike and do a amateur spin class or even get a treadmill, not sure how much they cost.
Currently I own a set of reasonably light dumbbells. The S&F plan needs no equipment and there’s plenty you can do with your own body weight as resistance in the comfort of your own home. I also use Nike Training Club which has many equipment free workouts, as well as some others. When following a plan on there I can tell it what I have at any time and it will adjust the plan... so I could start a 6 week plan with dumbbells only and add in a medicine ball a week in if I bought one.
The gym has everything, but with walking and running outdoors I struggle to justify the £40ish a month and for that money I could build a home gym bit by bit.
The big advantage of doing it at home is of course time... a 30 minute workout means I need 40 minutes tops free... with the gym it would be more like 90.
Thank you. Very informative and to be fair truthful, I agree so much with the points. I struggle with time due to work etc. So when it’s on your doorstep you can’t really say no.
