Gentle parkrun

Recovery run today and as it was 3 miles then I just had to go 3.11 and get down to parkrun. I generally run recovery runs in 12 minute miles so that would mean 5k in about 37 minutes. I may have got slightly carried away though, finished in 31:58 so half failed to run slowly! I did have a great time though and this is a kind of PB, it’s the fastest I’ve done 5k and still felt like I could go another 5 straight away... I guess it’s time for that 10.

I think the extra training I’ve been putting in has really boosted my all round fitness... so I’ll do my dumbbells routine before tea and some gentle yoga before wine!

The decision to cut back from the hour yesterday has given me a lot of energy today it seems... so I’m thinking that when I get back to 60 minutes a day I will make one of them all yoga... may even consider going to a class.

Well done on you Pb. I must say I did a 2km speed yesterday and got one of my fastest km’s in a long time. I think the leg work is already starting to pay off, that and the physio released some extra movement in my muscles, this strength stuff is good isn’t it? Hope you enjoyed your wine. Rfc x

That’s great to hear. I think my absolute PB is now doable... and hope to get to 25 over the summer, PB attempt will need a tempo run on my plan of the right length, I’ll only run a quarter mile over whatever it says.

The wine tasted exquisite! I realised I don’t need to pay more for a better flavour, I just need to be relaxed and happy... there was an experiment on Heston’s podcast about this and my regular house wine was certainly better last night!

My fav glass of wine is the one after my main meal when I’ve finished for the day and relaxed, I have 125 ml wine measure and I only have one but I really enjoy it. 😀. I am sure you will get to your Pb with training no problem. Rfc x

I’ve cut down a lot... Firstly half my days are dry now, and that I feel has reduced my tolerance somewhat. Last time I had a 4th glass I was tipsy. If I’m going to do Medoc I’ll need to train up 😂

Nice one mate. You definitely have been putting the hours in. Enjoy you glass of wine tonight. Personally I don't drink at all. I think I'll treat myself tonight and have milk in my tea 😱😂
