Well, after my run yesterday, I’ve decided to listen to my body’s little protest and take a short break from running to deal with some hamstring tightness.
My November quest is to add flex and strength to my routines anyway and although I thought I would give yoga a miss for a complete day of rest today, I found that I wanted to get up and get moving (gently) as that’s been my routine now for a week or two. That time to yourself in the early hours is so amazingly good 🤩. It distracts the overactive planning mind with some good in the moment focus. So yoga it is! 👍🏽
A great beginners session complete ✅. Pausing to get comfy (and work out what I’m doing😂) worked well!
Linda9389 is doing a 30 day challenge and I am joining in with an alternative so that I can be careful not to overdo it before I’m fully recovered. I’m hoping I’ll be ok in a few days, but I’m not going to push. There’s a lot to gain from letting go of expectations! Life is so much more enjoyable! I’m just going to let it flow! 😁
May we all be strong and injury free! ❤️

Thanks so much OF! 🤗 I do feel so much stronger is so many ways. It’s such a brilliant feeling to wake up wanting to get going. And it’s winter!! 😂 It’s usually a bit of a grind, so I’m so pleased with how I feel. I just need to let the body to catch up now. 😁❤️
Sounds ideal. 👏🏼 Are you doing Adrienne’s 30 days but less often or making up your own plan? I might try to join in, but can’t see my way to every day just yet....
Hi Granspeed I’m doing Adrienne’s beginners yoga session each day instead. She has a couple to choose from with varying times.
I’m going to try to gently master the yoga positions for now. I reckon 30 days of that will give me much more flexibility and confidence. Maybe I can then move onto something a bit more adventurous. 😃❤️
Sounds perfect. Must be 15 years since my last yoga class! I’ll look these up - time to have a go, I think, as the rain mizzles down yet again outside. 😨
You’re lucky it’s only 15yrs! 😂! I’ve tried it before and just felt I wasn’t cut out for it. I’m probably too impatient 😳, but I’m enjoying it now and I think I’m making slow progress. 😃❤️
Sounds like a great plan. Stopping altogether is not good for many strains and injuries - gentle stretches might well help. I did day 2 today and it was harder. I'll see how it goes, but if it gets too 'advanced' I may have to go back and find another option. For now I will persevere ... there's something about not knowing what's coming that appeals, but I'm just hoping she will keep throwing in some easier aaptations so I'll be able to keep up (there was no chance of my 'hopping forward' as Adrienne did today 🤣)
I’m committed to doing 30 days of yoga, but it’s probably going to be the same routine. If there was any hopping involved, I’d have more than a tight hamstring! 😂! Here’s to advancing more than we currently think possible! 😉❤️
I’m going to follow your advice too. A good reminder to me too. After doing a new strength session on Sunday I’m really struggling with a spasm in my back. So taking it gentle for next few days. Hope you feel better soon. 😊
Hi Knittingrunner!! 👋🏽That’s great! I think adjusting is part of the journey too. If we want to be long term runners, learning to listen to that body of ours (unruly as it may be 🙄😂) it is a good thing! Well done to you too! Delays are not denials! 😉❤️
