I saw my lovely physio yesterday. I haven’t seen him for over two years. Just goes to show I am doing something right 😀.
I went with more of a niggle than a pain in my hamstrings, ( yes both of them)
The good news is that there is not an injury at all, all ligaments and tendons are perfect, there is just tightness in the middle of them and lack of Strength that is causing issues.
My ankles are very weak, one legged standing on tip toes for this.
My glutes are tight and weak, a selection of bridges for this, including doing one rolling on a stability ball up and down with my feet, very very hard but boy can I feel it working.
Squats, there had to be squats, didn’t there, 🤪 but I have to hold at the bottom and squeeze at the top.
Then a few hamstring stretches, these ones I hate as you have to straighten you leg while stretching it to the ceiling (picture above) and I don’t get anywhere near a straight leg, but I will add in YET, as I know those will help and you never know maybe one day I will look like the picture 😀.
I have to do these three times a week on non running days, for three weeks then Go back and see him. He is sure that these will help my Morton’s neuroma and just generally make my running and race walking easier.
Now I wish I had gone weeks ago, but I am terrible about putting things like this off 😀.
So these are all now part of my April Challenge,
Have a great week everyone
